Pt 1, Pt 2, Pt 3, Pt 4, Pt 5, Pt 6, Pt 7, Pt 8
Katsuki stepped into the hallway and immediately pulled out his phone. He tapped his messages with Uraraka, his fingers flying across the keyboard with his usual aggressive energy.
Bakugo: Yeah, yeah, shut up about it. Iāll be there. Just stop texting me this early.
Before he could even lock the screen, his phone began to vibrate. He pinched the bridge of his nose and took a deep breath, seeing the caller ID: [AGENCY PR - MIURA].
"What?" he sighed, not even bothering with a greeting as he stomped toward the elevator.
"Bakugo, good morning," the voice on the other end was smooth, professional, and entirely too cheerful for Katsukiās mood. "I'm just calling to make sure you saw the engagement numbers from the photos leaked last week. The pictures were a massive hit. Your likeability rating among the general public has spiked by twelve percent overnight. People love seeing the Angry Hero actually being human with someone like Uraraka."
Katsuki leaned his head back against the elevator wall, closing his eyes. "I don't give a damn about the personality ratings, Miura. I did the walk. Iām doing the dinner. Weāre done after this, right?"
"Almost. We need a few more candid shots at the restaurant tonight to solidify the narrative. Look, I know itās a pain, but if you want to break top 10 again, your public image needs some softening. Just keep playing the devoted boyfriend for a few more weeks. Itās helping her get funding and support for her quirk counseling, too. It's a win-win."
"Whatever," Katsuki growled, his jaw tightening so hard it ached. "Iām hanging up."
"7:00 PM! Don't be late! And smile!"
He hung up and shoved the phone back into his pocket. He hated it. He hated every fake smile, every staged walk, every ship post that flooded the internet.
The PR team had been clear, if the public found out he was seeing someone else while they were pushing the Uraraka narrative, it would look like a scandal, not a romance. Causing harm to both of their ratings.
He thought he was protecting you, protecting your privacy by keeping you out of the mess of his professional life. He had no idea that you were upstairs, staring at your phone, spiraling with every scroll.
You barely even had to search for it, it was right there on the Explore page.
Your stomach sinking lower with every swipe as you read threads of fanās speculations. Photos from a recent patrol showed Katsuki and Uraraka standing close, deep in conversation. Another shot blurry, taken by a passerby showed them in civilian clothes outside a cafe, Uraraka laughing while Katsuki looked down at her.
A thread of high-resolution photos filled your screen. In the photos, Katsuki was in his usual black hoodie, hands shoved in his pockets, but he was leaning in toward Uraraka. She was smiling, her hand on his arm.
One caption read: āSpotted! Are the rumors true? The explosive hero finally softening up for Uravity? They look so domestic!ā The comments were worse. Thousands of fans gushing about how "balanced" they were, how they were the "it" couple of the Pro Hero world.
āTheyāre literally the power couple.ā
āRemember when they fought in the sports festival?!ā
āThe way he looks at her?? Itās over for everyone else.ā
āRumor is theyāve been seeing each other privately for months.ā
You felt a painful lump growing in your throat. You looked down at the spot where he had kissed and held you. Where heād built a fortress of his arms around you last night, suddenly felt like a cruel misunderstanding.
Iām so stupid, wait what about Midoriya? Does he know? Did everyone know but me? Do all my friends secretly think they are better together? Do they even like me?
You didn't move, you couldn't. If you moved, youād have to acknowledge the searing jealousy or the tears pricking at the corners of your eyes, and the fact that you are stupid for not noticing. So you laid back down pulling the covers trying to hide from everything. Your mind was already spiraling, overthinking every touch from the past week, through a new, distorted lens.
The restaurant was the kind of authentic spicy place that Katsuki usually loved, but tonight his favorite dishes tasted bland without you.
Across from him, Uraraka was playing her part to perfection. She was leaning forward, her chin in her hand, smiling as if he were telling the most captivating story in the world. He wasnāt. Out of the corner of his eye, Katsuki could see the photographer the agency had planted three tables over, to capture their "love."
"Bakugo, breathe," she whispered, her smile never wavering. "Itās just an hour. Then you can go back to her."
"I donāt want to be hereā¦no offense," he muttered, his eyes were fixed on his phone, which sat silent on the table. He was waiting for a text from you, anything to know you were okay. He hadnāt heard from you all day.
"I donāt want to be here either," she leveled with him. She took a sip of her drink, looking past him to make sure no one was eavesdropping. "But we agreed. Three more dates and the agency lets us announce a mutual, friendly breakup once the rankings stabilize. Weāre almost there."
"I don't have 'almost there' in me," he finally looked up at her.
His phone buzzed. A notification from the camera sensor: Front Door Open.
He called you. Once. Twice. Nothing. He texted: Where the hell are you? Are you okay? Pick up! Y/N L/N ANSWER. Silence.
āI have to go, tell em I was sick or something,ā he turned away not looking back at her.
āW-wait what happened?ā
Uraraka watched him ignore her and beeline for the door. He wasnāt trying to be rude but he was convinced you were lying in a ditch somewhere or having a seizure because you wouldn't pick up your damn phone.
He pulled up your location, you were at the park near the apartment. By the time he got to the park, it was dimly lit, but he saw you near a stone fountain. You werenāt having a seizure. You werenāt passed out in the street.
Instead you were chatting up with the delivery guy, that same smug, extra who had eyed you up during move-in day. Katsuki was trying to figure out if this was planned or not. Maybe you two just happen to run into each other. Right?
"Yeah, I loved that place," the delivery guy smiled, leaning in. "Maybe we could go sometime, you know if youāre noā"
"Katsuki?" You blinked, stumbling back a step. "What are you doing here? Aren't youā"
"You left the apartment?!," he snapped, stepping directly into your space, completely ignoring the other guy. "I tracked your location. I called you. I texted you. And fucking nothing! Are you actively trying to take years off my life, or are you just stupid?!"
"Whoa, dude, back off," the delivery guy said, stepping forward. "You can't just yell at herā"
Katsuki didn't even look at him. He just whipped his hand around, a sharp SNAP-POP of an explosion detonating inches from the guy. "Shut the hell up! This doesn't concern you! Do you want to die?"
"What? stop it!" You shoved his shoulder, your voice furious. "Get away from him! What the fuck is your actual problem?! You don't get to run over here and play the overprotective āboyfriendā when you're supposed to be on a date with Uraraka!"
The delivery guy didn't care to to stick around, realizing that this was something he wasnāt going to get in the middle of it. He just slowly walked away, then he practically sprinted away.
"What is my problem?!" Katsuki shouted, turning on you. His fists were clenched so tight they were shaking, involuntary sparks popping faintly against his palms. "Youāre what my problem is! Youāre out here with unanswered texts, ignoring your phone, walking around by your goddamn self when you know what can happen if you have an episode alone!"
"I was getting fresh air, Katsuki! Obviously I wasnāt alone since you decided to be a fucking stalker!" you yelled back, frustration boiling over as tears stung your own eyes. "Why do you even care? Youāre supposed to be on a date right now! What, did you tell Uraraka to be able to leave?"
Katsuki froze. The defensive glare in his eyes was replaced with a sudden confusion. "What? Round face? What the hell are you talking aboutāare youā
Then, it clicked. You must have seen the the photos. The realization stripped away his immediate defense mechanism. He knew that youād see it, but he wanted to be the one to explain it. A harsh, broken laugh escaped him. He shoved his hands through his hair.
"A date? Iām not out on a fucking date with her!" he shouted, his voice cracking. "It was a PR stunt! The agency set it up because of the media rankings, and I couldn't get out of it! I didn't want to go! I didnāt want to be anywhere near her, I wantedā"
He choked on his own breath, angry tears finally spilling over and tracking down his cheek. He was furious that he was crying, furious at the world, but most of all furious with himself.
"I wanted to be with you!", his chest heaving. "Iāve wanted to be with you for so fucking long it makes me sick! And I hate it because it took me literally dying, me being weak and needing you to rescue me for me to finally fucking see you!"
You took a step back, stunned by the sheer force of his emotion, but he kept coming, desperate for you to understand.
"Every single day," his voice becoming raw, trembling with an agony and longing heād kept hidden behind chores and medical schedules. "Every time you can't get out of bed, every time your body betrays you, every time you have a seizure... itās because of me. Itās my fault you canāt be a hero! I took that from you! I'm the reason you had to retire!"
He felt like his body was becoming hallowed out the more he vomited his feelings.
"I have no right to you! I know that! At first... yeah, it was about a debt. I felt so goddamn guilty I thought if I took care of you, if I became the number one hero for you since you couldn't do it anymore, it would fix it. But it didn't fix anything, it just made it worse, because I fell in love with you! Knowing that I donāt get to want you!"
He was openly crying now, angry, heartbroken tears running down his face as he stared at you with a vulnerability that felt almost holy.
"At some point, I stopped wanting to be the best for myself. I wanted to be the best because of you. I don't want to be your friend, or your roommate, or some fucking caretaker youāre tethered to out of necessity! I want to be the one you lean on because you want to. I want to be the one who makes you laugh like you were laughing with that idiot just now. I want to be the one who keeps you safe. I want to be the one who gets to love you."
Katsuki took a shaky uneven breath, his hands running through his hair. Then dropping them to his sides, completely spent and exposed.
"So don't look at me and think I'm out replacing you," he whispered, his voice cracking on the final words. "There is nobody else. Itās only ever been you. Iām yours, Iāve always been yours.
The heavy silence settled around you both again, but the air felt entirely different now, it felt thick with the weight of everything he had just confessed.
Your heart was hammering so hard that it made your ears ring. The sheer magnitude of his words, combined with the sudden rush of adrenaline, made the world slightly blurred. Your knees buckled as a wave of dizziness washed over you.
Katsukiās caught it instantly. The furious, heartbroken expression on his face vanished, replaced by slight panic.
His hands shot out gripping your waist and steadying your shoulders, anchoring you before you could fall. He brought his face close to yours, his eyes scanning yours frantically. "Hey, breathe. Is it an episode? Do you need your meds?"
You didnāt speak. You just stared at him, your breath hitching. Up close, you could see the damp tracks of tears on his face, his eyelashes still wet. Slowly you lifted a hand and wiped a stray tear from his cheek with your thumb. Your own tears finally spilled over, blurring your vision.
"You idiot," you choked out, your throat tightening. "Iām not having an episode. Iām just... you're a lot."
Katsuki let out a ragged breath, leaning his forehead against yours for a brief second, his grip tightening on your waist. "You scared the shit out of me."
"I love you too, Katsuki," the words tumbling out before you could lose your nerve.
He stiffened against you, his breath catching in his throat, subconsciously pulling you tighter into him.
"I love you so much," you wept, your hands moving to bunch into the fabric of his jacket.
"But I was scared. I th- I thought you should be with someone healthy. I thought you were forcing yourself to be here because you felt obligated. Or responsible for me. Even when I hoped you might feel something more... I kept telling myself it was just pity. Not love."
You looked up at him, your heart completely bare. "But I wanted you. I wanted you so it physically hurt, like an ache that wouldnāt go away."
Katsuki stared at you utterly speechless, completely undone by the realization of how much time you both wasted by being silent.
He didn't know what to say. So, he didn't say anything.
He leaned in, crashing his lips against yours. It was a bit messy and rough, fueled by the adrenaline, the yearning, and the sheer relief of hearing your confession. But the intensity of the kiss was genuine deep love. His hands slid from your waist to cup your face, pulling you closer. When he finally pulled back to breathe, you rested your cheek into his hand.
"Itās always been you, too," you murmured softly.
A quiet, breathless laugh escaped Katsukiās chest. The tension was finally dissipating, leaving a warmth behind.
You sniffled and huffed out a laugh, looking back up at him. "You know...that delivery guy is probably going to be your number one hater."
Katsuki scoffed, an arrogant smirk finally tugging at the corner of his lips, "Who cares about that extra? If he knows whatās good for him, heāll keep his distance anyway."
Neither of you noticed the faint, distinct click of a camera shutter from the shadow of the nearby bushes. The paparazzi, who had followed Bakugo from his ruined PR date, had just captured the shot of a lifetime.
Katsuki leaned down and kissed you again, a softer sweeter one this time, before pulling back. "You ever tell anyone I was crying out here, and Iāll blast you into next week. Got it?"
Then he remembered why he was even out here in the first place, his face contorted back into a frown, and he yelled, "And you're a fucking moron! Walking out here by yourself, ignoring my calls, not answering the damn phone! Do you have any idea how freaked out I was?!"
You rolled your eyes, a smile breaking across your face as you leaned back against his hold. "Can I have the lovey dovey sappy Katsuki back, please?"
Katsuki let out a loud, dramatic groan, shrugging his shoulders but keeping his arm securely wrapped around your waist to guide you back towards the apartment.
"Hah?! Don't get used to it! You get one sappy speech a year, and you just blew your budget."
The drive back to the apartment was suffocating, with a heavy sexual tension that made every breath feel twice as loud.
Ever since last night, things had been precarious. You both had been building up to sex, only for Katsukiās palms to involuntarily ignite from a sudden ejaculation. The memory of that abrupt halt hung between you both like static.
When the apartment door clicked shut behind you, the silence only got heavier. You both sat down on the edge of the couch, staring straight ahead, suddenly extremely self aware of each other.
Katsuki was gripping his knees, his knuckles white, his chest rising and falling in sharp, jagged intervals.
"Fuck it," he growled suddenly.
Before you could even blink, his hands locked onto your waist. With one powerful, decisive tug, he pulled you right across his lap so you were straddling him. You gasped already feeling how hard he was. His mouth crashed onto yours with a desperate, crushing hunger. He held you so tight as if the moment he let go, you might disappear.
The kiss deepened, turning hot and consuming as you rolled your hips against him. Hands moved frantically, tugging at jackets and pulling shirts over heads until the cool air of the apartment hit your bare skin.
But just as his hand slid up your thigh, Katsuki abruptly froze. He pulled back, his forehead resting against yours, his breathing ragged and shallow. When he spoke, his voice was quiet and soft.
"Look... I haven't... Iāve never," tripping over his words, his eyes darting away to the side, his face heating up.
Silence stretched between you. You stared at him, eyes wide.
"You heard me," Katsuki snapped, a furious red climbing his neck. "Iām not saying it again."
"Iām just surprised," you stammered, a laugh bubbling up. "Women literally throw themselves at you. You have a fan page dedicated to your forearms."
"Okay and?" he hissed, dragging a hand over his face to hide his embarrassment. "First it was UA, then the war, then my agency. And then... I got close to you. I realized I didn't want anyone else, so I didn't see the damn point in wasting my time."
Your heart did a violent flip at his intense loyalty. But the sheer absurdity of it caught up to you, and a breathless laugh escaped your lips.
"Are you laughing at me?!" Katsuki questioned, pinning you with a fierce glare. "I open up to you and you laugh?"
"No, I'm laughing at us," you gasped, wiping a tear. "Katsuki... Iām a virgin too."
"What?" He blinked, thrown entirely off balance.
"Yeah," you smirked, leaning in to tease him. "Turns out when you spend your teens training, fighting in a literal war, and then you get diagnosed with a life changing chronic illness... dating kinda takes a backseat. When exactly was I supposed to find anyone to date?"
Katsukiās eyes snapped back to yours, a sudden, sobering realization had just hit him. His hands tightened slightly on your thighs, his expression shifting into something intensely protective. "Wait shit! Are you okay? Your heartāyour jointsāis this too much right now? We can wait!"
"Katsuki, I'm okay," you assured him softly, cupping his face. "I promise. Just be with me."
You leaned in placing a kiss on his lips again but softer and sweeter than his, but no less intense. You kissed until the remaining clothes were completely discarded onto the floor.
He laid you back down on the couch, hovering over you. You looked up at him, thinking of last night. "Hey... I should probably be on top."
Katsuki raised an eyebrow, "Hah? Why?"
"Because," you giggled softly, tracing his scar on his chest, "you have a tendency to literally explode when you get too excited."
"Shut the hell up," he scoffed, though his ears had a bright red tint on the tips.
With a low grunt, he gripped your hips and effortlessly pulled you on his lap, letting you settle yourself.
"Okay," you whispered, leaning down to press a soft, reassuring kiss to his jaw. "But you have to relax. Youāre as stiff as a board."
"I am relaxed!" he lied through his teeth, his entire torso rigid.
You gently guided him inside, both of you letting out a sharp gasp, finally feeling each other. The feeling of him inside you stretching you out and making you feel full. Feeling you sink on to him was dizzying. It felt like he was being sucked into a warm wet embrace that perfectly suited him. The angle was a little off, and Katsukiās hips gave an involuntary, awkward twitch that made both of you wince.
"Ow, waitāhold on," you mumbled, trying to shift your weight.
"Dammit, did I hurt you? Are you okay?" Katsuki immediately panicked, his eyes flying open.
"I'm fine, I'm fine! Just give me a second to adjust," you braced your hand on his chest. While you pulled off of him and guided him back in.
"Great, c-can you move, you're literal torture right now," he growled, though he forced himself to take a deep, stabilizing breath. He looked at you, desperate to feel you bounce on him. Heās imagined this a thousand times but actually being here with you. Was intoxicating. You are the best thing heās ever felt in his entire life and he was struggling, trying to hold off on finishing from just being inside you.
You softened, leaning down to press your forehead against his.
"Katsuki. Look at me." He met your eyes. "You're not going to hurt me. We're going to figure it out together. Just put your hands on my hips.ā
He swallowed hard, slowly lifting his hands. When his palms gripped your waist, they were warm, steady, and completely spark-free.
"Yeah. Okay," he muttered, his voice dropping an octave, turning thick and dark.
As you began to move, the fumbling of your first try dissolved. Katsuki caught the rhythm, his eyes locking onto your as his grip tightened around you. The nerves faded and the rhythm you both found was intense, a breathless blur of heat and friction that left you both completely consumed.
Katsukiās eyes never left yours, his pupils blown wide, his chest heaving as he held your hips against him. You looked beautiful to him, your eyes closed, you mouth slightly open soft moans and pants falling from it. The feeling of you, the reality that you are finally his, and the overwhelming physical sensation, was pushing him straight to the edge.
He needed you closer, needed to feel you pressed against him. He snaked his arms around you pulling you down and kissing you a bit rougher than he intended. He broke it to kiss your shoulder, collar bones, neck, and really anywhere he could.
āKatsuki,ā You breathlessly moaned his name.
Hearing that from you, the way you said it like a something sacred, gave him a sudden boost of confidence. He grabbed you tighter holding your in place, pistoning in and out of you at at desperate sloppy pace that showed you how much heās wanted this, how much heās wanted you
It was too much. His carefully maintained control began to fracture.
"Ah-shitā" he choked out, his voice thick and strained.
He let go to hold your hips in place chasing his orgasm. His entire body went rigid, his head snapping back as he felt your pussy flutter around him.
Your orgasm hit suddenly, a blind wave of heat and friction that caught you both at the exact same time. Your pussy was pulsating around him as you thrusted your hips on him riding out your orgasm. You arched against his arm with a cried out gasp of his name, clenching around him so hard you started pushing him out. Katsuki threw his head back, his jaw clenching, his dick twitching as he spilled inside of you. He let out a low, undone groan of your name, completely losing his grip on his restraint. He felt the familiar, dangerous heat rushing to his palms. He quickly let go of you, putting his hands down on the cushions.
A loud, sharp pop echoed through the living room. The explosion wasn't huge, but at point blank range, it was devastating to the couch.
The sudden shockwave threw you slightly off balance, and you collapsed against his chest, gasping before you looked over at his hands and laughing breathlessly.
His palms were pressed firmly against the cushions had violently detonated. The expensive fabric of the couch was blackened and singed, smoking faintly. Worse, the throw pillows had completely ruptured, sending a ridiculous amount of white feathers exploding into the air, raining down over the two of you.
You buried your face in his neck, shaking with uncontrollable, breathless laughter. You were clutching his shoulders, laughing so hard your ribs ached.
"Shut up," Katsuki groaned into your neck, his voice muffled and miserable. "Don't say a damn word."
"It felt that good?," you wheezed, wiping a stray feather off your cheek as you looked at his bright red ears. "Iām flattered, truly.ā
"Shut up!" , his entire face turning a violent, shade of red as a feather drifted down and landed right on his nose, making you laugh harder. "Don't laugh! It was an accident, damn it!"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," you wheezed, wiping a tear from your eye as you looked at the smoking ruin of your living room furniture. "Itās fine... Iāll just... I'll start looking for a new couch online tomorrow."
"Get away from me," he muttered, but as the feathers were still drifting lazily through the air when you finally caught your breath, your head resting against his shoulder as he hugged you.
"We need a shower," you murmured, pointing a finger at a stray feather stuck to his collarbone. "We look like sweaty chickens."
"Yeah, yeah," Katsuki grunted, though his movements were incredibly gentle as he shifted. He lifted you off of him, both of you quietly moaning at the sudden coldness and emptiness. He slid his arms under your knees and back, lifting you effortlessly into his arms. You hooked your arms around his neck as he carried you down the hall and into the bathroom.
The water was warm, steam quickly filling the small space and blurring the mirror. Katsuki stood under the spray with you. He poured shampoo into his palms and began to work it into your hair, his calloused fingers surprisingly soft against your scalp. Him washing your hair and then your body, his touch reverent and careful, was so intimate.
But as the soap rinsed away, you noticed his eyes lingering. He wasn't just washing you, he was truly looking at you, his crimson eyes sweeping over every inch of your naked skin with an intensity that made your cheeks burn.
"Stop looking at me," you mumbled, suddenly feeling self-conscious and covering yourself with your hands.
Katsuki let out a scoff. "Hah? The hell you mean 'stop looking'? We literally just had sex, you idiot. Iāve already seen everything."
"It's different now!" you protested, puffing out your cheeks.
Katsuki gave you a thoroughly confused look, staring at you for a moment before a fond, amused shadow crossed his face.
"Dumbass," he muttered, leaning down to press a soft kiss right to your forehead.
He stepped closer, letting the water drench both of you as he rested his body against him, his hand coming up to squeeze your boob. His voice dropping into a quiet, register "I love every damn inch of you. Get used to it."
He leaned down and kissed you deep, slow, and full of a quiet certainty that felt grounding. He pulled back, his eyes were dark with a lingering heat. "You tired? Your joints hurting?"
"Surprisingly, no," you laughed softly, leaning into his touch. "I actually feel okay."
Before you could ask why, he lifted you up. You instinctively wrapped your arms tightly around his neck and locked your legs around his waist as he pressed your back gently against the wet shower wall.
He didn't hesitate, he captured your mouth in a rough, possessive kiss as he guided himself inside you, completely sinking into you in one selfish thrust.
āS-sorryā He mumbled a pathetic apology, that he didnāt really mean. He was inpatient, he just wanted to feel you again.
The tenderness from before was gone, a raw intensity replacing it. He was more confident this time, loved knowing that he was the one causing you to fall apart. Your moans echoing off the wall, the feeling of his pace, sliding in and out with frantic, erratic speed driven by a desperate hunger heād been suppressing for so long.
"I love you," you gasped out against his shoulder, your fingers digging into his back as your pussy fluttered around him.
The words seemed to break whatever restraint he had left. Katsuki let out a low gasping moan, his pace quickening instantly. Sloppily thrusting into you as deep as he could until he reached his breaking point with a breathless gasp of your name.
He piston in and out over and over again, getting harder and faster with each thrust. He picked up the pace as he felt you cum on him. He groaned your name with a final, agonizingly deep thrust, inside you, he locked his hips and held himself there, spilling deep inside you.
His palms sparked against the shower wall, but the running water instantly hissed, turning the explosions into a harmless steam and boiling mist that sprayed across the ceiling.
You followed him right over the edge a second later, completely undone. Grabbing his hair and scratching his back as you rode out your orgasm. Tightening around him, he moved his hips a few more times to help you. He couldāve sworn that he came again just from feeling you ride it out. His dick twitching inside of you from overstimulation.
Slowly, his breathing ragged, katsuki let you slide down until your feet touched the shower floor. You slumped against his chest, completely spent. Laughing softly
"Again? Damn the effect I have on you"
Katsuki groaned, resting his forehead against your shoulder to hide his smile. "Shut up. The water put it out, didn't it?" He turned you around, pulling your back flush against his chest and wrapping his arms around you, letting you lean your full weight into him under the water.
Both of you washed off for real, the hot water soothing your tired muscles. By the time Katsuki turned off the faucet, the adrenaline had completely faded, leaving your limbs feeling like lead.
"Okay, now Iām tired," you mumbled, leaning heavily against his chest as he wrapped a towel around you.
"I figured." Katsuki let out a low rumble of laughter.
He scooped you up into his arms, carrying you into the bedroom. Sitting at the edge of the bed to comb through your damp hair. Katsuki was rummaging through the dresser, his back to you.
"Hey, Katsuki?" you called out, a teasing tilt to your voice. "Does this mean weāre dating now?"
Katsuki stopped mid-motion. "Huh?"
He turned around, holding a shirt in his hand, eyebrow raised. "Are you fucking dense? Or is your brain completely fried?"
His voice dripping with heavy, dramatic sarcasm. "No, actually. We aren't dating at all. I just bared my fucking soul to you in the middle of the street and fucked you because I really needed you to cover my half of the rent this month."
You burst out laughing, putting your bonnet on. "Well youāre shit out of luck, I have no money."
"I am well aware you have no money!" he snapped, though there was no real heat in it. With a flick of his wrist, he threw the shirt he was holding straight at your face. "Put the shirt on."
You pulled the fabric away from your face and looked down at it. It was his old black skull shirt, the one he used to wear all the time back in high school. It was worn, soft, and smelled entirely like him. A warmth bloomed in your chest as you slid it over your head, the oversized fabric swallowing you up.
Katsuki walked over, his expression softening seeing you wearing his clothes. He leaned over, pressing a lingering, sweet kiss to your lips. He gently grabbed your waist, guiding you down until you were lying on the bed. He pulled the blankets up over both of you, tucking you into his side. He wrapped his arms tightly around you, burying his face into the crook of your neck.
"I'm happy you're here," he whispered, the words so quiet you almost missed them.
You smiled, wiggling yourself closer into him. "Me too, Katsuki."
As his breathing slowed into a deep, steady rhythm, you finally closed your eyes, letting the exhaustion wash over you, feeling completely safe in his arms.
