One correction:

The old lady is not in her home. She is at work. She's meant to be what in Italian is called "la portinaia", aka a cross between a doorwoman and cleaner of a residential building. She's in her small "office" space, at the entrance of the building, from where she can survey the coming and goings of the inhabitants. It's a job that has mostly disappeared, but is culturally very clear to us as having the connotation of "potentially gossipy, one-million-percent judgmental woman who sees everything that goes on in the apartment complex, knows everyone and their secrets, and has Strong Opinions™️".

In this case, thankfully, the Strong Opinion™️ is that those two men are ridiculous with their teeny tiny flag for ants.

honestly i think the reason why it’s so common for kids to have the “it’s not a phase, mom” argument in their adolescence is less because they genuinely plan for their current state of being to remain utterly unchanged forever and more because they’re tired of having their interests/self expression/beliefs/etc dismissed as foolish due to being probably temporary

i know that when i was that age i certainly wasn’t thinking about whether or not i’d be into whatever shit i was into then when i was 80, all i knew was that i was sick of feeling like the adults in my life were just rolling their eyes and waiting out everything that was important to me at that moment

I hate how so far, this remake BC lit has removed key moments for the Turks like Reno & Rude team up at Costal Del Sol while they lean on OG BC, weakest point: it's over reliance on Cloud, Zack & co.... Here, it goes to the point of completely flanderizing what was the point of said chapters originally.

Everything looks so awkward & boring . Everything is in chibi style because they didn't bother creating character models for the BC Turks & that iteration of Avalanche.

And we get wonderful lines like this which add to the awkwardness of the whole thing

Now that Aphromia is clearly the main character while Rodd, is just...there, they better not remove her scenes with Elena, which are important to her developpment.

The way all the 2020s have done so far have been making me categorically against every new generation of tech that comes out is insane. Like I'm from a technological boom generation, saw the first portable phones, nokias & blackberries & flipphones etc, and the first smartphones, and the first ipods & ipads & tablets in general while still having cassettes & DVD & MP3 players around so I know how all of it work, I had computer classes in high school, I did the transition between home desktop computers to laptops and back to gaming computers. But then they started to put internet in your printer & microwave, everything has ads & AI now and every update is worst than the last. I literally loved technology and they ruined it
