Yesterday the principal announced that today was gonna be my birthday. ALL day i was getting happy birthday wishes from my students and from random kids in the hall. 2 classes even sang me the happy birthday song. It was wonderful. Some colleagues made the big sign and some awesome students made me sweet small ones. Really great day

Its my first year teaching, Ive been teaching middle school art since August 24th. This weekend I visited my mom back home for the first time since I moved, I had to move for my job, and for the first time I have just gotten homesick. I miss my mom alot, my sister and nephews, I miss my chickens, I miss mowing the grass in my yard, I miss sleeping on the couch, I miss my friends. Even though I really like where im living and my job kicks ass(most days) I miss home.

I also dont even feel like going to work tomorrow, but alas time is slipping away and I have to get these lesson plans done.
