I love katya and Alaska so much
Spotted: Japan's first officially-recognised same-sex couple.
A colourful procession of rainbow flag-waving supporters marched in downtown Tokyo on Sunday during one of its annual LGBTQ pride parades.
According to local reports, about 5000 people marched the 3km parade route for Tokyo Rainbow Pride, which took them through through the iconic Shibuya Station crossing intersection.
In November last year, two women made history by obtaining a government certificate officially recognising their union.
But Hiroko Masuhara and Koyuki Higashi’s certificate isn’t legally binding, so spousal rights such as hospital visitations are regarded more as suggestions rather than enforceable by law.
Despite small steps inching toward more equal treatment, LGBTQ issues remain largely underground in Japan’s conservative community.
This is absolutely beautiful

tell me “we are Orlando” after you and your masc friends address how the homophobia you’ve internalized is also the same kind that led to the massacre
tell me “we are Orlando”‘after you recognize POC in the community as more than just trophies you can cross off your fetish bucket list
tell me “we are Orlando” after you start uplifting feminine and trans men instead of treating them like a stain you can’t remove from the carpet
tell me “we are Orlando” after you start putting POC on the cover of your magazines more than once every leap year
tell me “we are Orlando” when you stop giving priority to straight white men over LGBT POC voices
tell me “we are Orlando” when we really become a community instead of a straight acting white boys only club
Because at a time like this you should really be dividing the community. Shit like this is fucking disgusting
people have been asking me why I made such a divisive post during this tragedy, so here’s the deal.
I left a vigil in Portland where a white gay man with “no rice no spice” on his scruff profile took a selfie holding a candle as he mourned 49 brown bodies.
A masculine friend on Facebook posted “we are Orlando” and filtered his profile picture. 12 hours later he made another post about how he can’t stand when men sound like they have “a purse falling out of their mouth”.
The same accounts I saw calling #GayMediaSoWhite divisive are now the same ones using a tragedy involving 98% POC to make out with their boyfriends with #2MenKissing for nothing more than reblogs while praising Nick Jonas, a white straight man, for being such a brave ally and speaking on behalf of LGBT people of color.
I made this post because even in tragedy, y'all never stop.
So, yeah, this post is divisive. But so are the actions of those within the community I’m holding accountable as they continue to build social capital from a tragedy involving men both brown and feminine.
reblog if u want a female black gay muslim link
do it for her
Reblogging for @johndudee

Nick Jonas’ speech at Orlando vigil causes confusion
Why did straight, cis, white singer Nick Jonas speak at a vigil for the victims of the Orlando, Florida, shooting? It’s a mystery the morning after, and it was a mystery to the attendees of the New York City vigil. Part of the problem is the ongoing criticism that Jonas is “gaybaiting” the community.
Wouldn’t an openly lgbtq latino/a celebrity have been more fitting?
Wait everyone! What if his being there is his way of coming out just like Colton Haynes???? We gotta be respectful of our closet-challenged queerbaiting eye candy or whatever!!!
Hey, I’m feeling fucked up because of the Orlando shooting and making posts that Might Be Helpful to others makes me feel better. So here’s some positive stuff. I’m mostly linking to masterposts. If you have any suggestions for additions, please message me and I’ll add things. This is a hard time for LGBT people and I hope everyone can feel well soon.

I also realize that this can be a really hard time for a lot of people. Here are some LGBT friendly hotlines:
(For ages 13-24 edit: They do not turn anyone away) The Trevor Project: 1-866-4-U-TREVOR or online at www.thetrevorproject.com [edit: Be aware if you’re suicidal or psychotic: They may call the police on you in these instances]
THE GLBT National Help Center
Hotline: 1-888-THE-GLNH
Youth Talkline: 1-800-246-PRIDE
GLCCB has a good masterpost, but some of them are not national, so pay attention to locality
edit: A trans-specific hotline: 877-565-8860
edit: A link to someone’s comment for help in Canada
edit: For help in the UK:
http://switchboard.lgbt/
https://lgbt.foundation/get-support/
Additionally, here’s a list of 146 things you can do instead of self-harming, because I know that things like this can be extremely upsetting.
edit: If you intend on going to any famously/historically LGBT locations or pride events this month, or near the proximity of the Orlando shooting, please make sure people know where you are, have an action plan, and watch out for suspicious behavior.
Stay safe everyone!
