Feed has me pissed off, so I'm posting a hot take on the feed tonight for all the Galarians:

The 2nd Darkest Day wasn't Eternatus' fault. It was Chairman Rose's.

1. The bastard admitted to it live on telly. I was there on the pitch when he fuckin' did so.

2. This was corroberated in classified documents released to the public during the trial held against Macro Cosmos following the event. Hell, many companies were in on it.

3. Various historical sites in the Crown Tundra have been vandalized by Macro Cosmos in Rose's search, proving that this was further premeditated.

4. I work with Eternatus. Never, EVER in my life have I worked with a pokemon this traumatized. I could barely get it to go outside and bask in the sun for five months. Do you seriously think a malicious pokemon would be scared of a bloody PLUSHIE??

The entire situation was and is less than ideal.

Eternatus, at the very least my iteration of it, is a wild animal, and it was scared. It lashed out because it was scared. It behaved as any wild creature would when put in a similar situation. We cannot fault it for that. Yes, Chairman Rose caused this problem.

However.

It still happened. Eternatus was still involved. And people still got hurt. It's unreasonable to ask people to instantly forgive it. The damage it caused was immense. Yes, it was scared and lashing out. Yes, it behaved in self defense. But it hurt people. And that is a tricky thing to forget. I would argue it's reasonable to be afraid of it, even. It's not a difficult task to lock away one man. It's something else entirely to work with an extraterrestrial creature of this magnitude.

This is something I struggle to form a coherent opinion on. I've been working with my own Eternatus, and that relationship has been a struggle. Whether it's my own fear, or its, I don't know. I can't say what the best course of action is. No, I don't believe Eternatus was malicious. But I do believe that we have to tread the situation incredibly carefully.

I want people to stop sayin it should fuckin' return to being trapped in a cage with wires pokin out of it like a fucked up science experiment! That it should be put down like a rabid pokémon!

I want people to treat it with a fucking SHRED of respect. To at least acknowledge the fact that hey, maybe callin' fer people to repeat the past by "makin it pay for what it did by servin' as the battery it was meant to be" won't solve anything?

I'm afraid that people behave irrationally when they're afraid. It's a shame, and something that's caused a great deal of suffering, but it's unavoidable. That doesn't give them an excuse to behave inhumanely, though.

I remember when I was in elementary school in Unova, the pokemon Card Game got banned from the school.
