that moment where henry is trying to hold brabant (then a stranger, a potential threat) at sword point -- but then he unexpectedly sees hans. and we get the close up of his whole face twitching and grimacing as he is overwhelmed with relief and we see all the breath go out of him. and then we watch as henry visibly, physically vacillates between the need to restrain/threaten the presumed enemy and the extreme physical urge to go to hans. and ultimately he can't fucking stand it and drops his sword and turns his back on the enemy because he can't bear not going to hans
hans's enormous so-big-it-looks-like-it-hurts ugly grin as he shoves his face into henry's shoulder to squeeze him & how it appears again, much later, when he cannot keep kissing henry because he cannot control his smile
the mundane but gutting dismay of realizing the trosky armorer has issued dinged up shit to henry's (your) beloved lord because no one here except henry (you) really gives a damn if hans lives or dies. the horrible sinking feeling warhorse puts in your/henry's gut as he holds that shitty steel breast in his hands and thinks of it being all that protects his much loved little birdie, whom he almost lost to the noose, in the upcoming battle, and he asks "is this really all that's left?"
"you've never let me down" gets a lot of admiration, but for me the choice line from that scene is hans's genuinely pathetic plea of "don't do this to me" when henry deliriously calls out for his dead pa
the terror breaking through hans's voice as he screams out "henry henry for the love of god"
warhorse modelling and evoking henry missing hans via their deliberately timed placement of gnarly & semine's introduction - and how incredibly similar their dynamic/personalities are to hans & henry, a vision of what might be possible for them in the future, if only they could find each other again in the present
"you must be homesick" Jobst says as he offers Henry a return home - and though the ENTIRE game has been engineered to make us feel homesick, Henry declines in such an instant and honest way, it clarifies there will be no "going home" physically or emotionally if hans isn't with him
