Some of you have asked about my personal supplement regimen. Let me tell ya, I may not be a master mixologist behind the bar, but I can make a shake {and supplement regimen} that most practitioners would be jealous of!
UltraGI Replenish: Hands down, this is the best tasting product we use. I choose vanilla! [and I’m always, always, a chocolate girl] It’s smooth {no grit like UltraInflamX or UltraClear Renew} and sweet, almost reminds me of cookie dough. YUM! This product is a GI HEALER. Any damage you did to your gut in the past, this one helps repair. It has PREBIOTICS to feed your PROBIOTICS, and lots of other cool ingredients that help tighten your gut junctions. {next week I’ll post about leaky gut--and how to fix it!}
UltraMeal Cardio360: I don’t HAVE heart problems or cholesterol problems, but my 9 days on the pulmonary floor for my BSN practicum sure let me know that I DON’T WANT THEM IN THE FUTURE! This is a fantastic supplement for those with risks for heart disease, elevated cholesterol, or elevated blood pressure (studies show it reduces BP and lipid numbers in a short 3 months--even if you don’t do one thing to your diet or exercise. Kind of a miracle, right? Wrong-just a good combination of plant sterols and xanthohumal to decrease your inflammatory markers!)
UltraMeal Daily: This is my go to protein. I’m not sick! I don’t really need the GI Replenish all the time or the Cardio360 all the time (I’m using them for PREVENTION). This is what I consider my “maintenance protein”. The chocolate tastes sweet, has lots of good vitamins in it, and its the cheapest of the 3.
Phytoganix: Tell me, do you eat 9-13 servings of ORGANIC vegetables daily? All I can think is, “Lord, I’d be eating all day long to get those in!” So, like most of my American cohort, I’m deficient in nutrients! This is a great supplement to get those ORAC’s in! {Soon to come: blog post on what ORAC’s actually are, stay tuned!}
Wellness Essentials: This combo pack of vitamins comes in a cute package with your fish oil, phyto multi, and vitamin D. BOOM. The basics of wellness. [And I don’t have to open three jars to get these out!]
Ultraflora Spectrum, Ultraflora Intensive Care, Ultraflora Balance: These are my three go to probiotics. Spectrum replenishes the strains you need, intensive care is a healing probiotic, and balance is the daily support. I usually do 1 month of spectrum annually, 2 months of intensive care annually, and then balance the rest of the time! {don’t worry-I’ll be blogging about the various probiotics and how to choose the best ones soon!}
Magnesium: 1200mg daily as migraine prophylaxis. Need I say more? [I split this up, and take some in the morning, some in the evening. Magnesium also helps you relax to sleep, so its a double win!]
SPM’s: Check out Dr. Rob Silverman’s post here (youtube video here) about what these guys are--I call them liquid gold (they’re tiny, gold, liquid filled capsules, duh). Not even the healthiest person on the planet produces enough SPM’s naturally to resolve the inflammation we do to ourselves daily (every time you eat, your inflammatory markers rise....just to digest your food!). Don’t mind the “high price”--they’re WORTH.EVERY.PENNY.
GlutaClear: Glutathione is a heavy duty antioxidant. It helps you with Phase II of detoxification (which we all need, because we live in a toxic environment). #nuffsaid
Last but not least, ADRESET! I burned out my cortisol, y’all. I was grumpy, hungry (salt cravings, all the time), sleepy, and couldn’t get myself sorted out. This is a supplement for chronic stress, once you’ve used up all you’ve got and you’re running on exhaust fumes [yes, it is better to not let yourself get here, but I know a LOT of people-especially females-let stress get the better of them]. This supplement helps resolve that problem. Within a month, I was back to sleeping like a baby, had the energy to eat right, and I wasn’t biting people’s heads off [or furiously crying because I was so angry stressed]-I’ve never felt better!
Please, let me know what questions you have about my DAILY mixology. I use an array of other supplements throughout the year, and I’ll share with you some of those regimens soon! Do you use supplements? What brands do you choose? Why?
