#theyearimetyou #ceceliaahern I picked this one up just because I loved the title of the book. And many people would agree, it's a lovely title, and a very tempting one. It just clicks, those 5 words invoke a story in itself which only we know of. It's achingly beautiful. Coming to the story of this book, the first 70 pages made me think it's gonna be a drag, but as the story picked on, I was consummed by its simplicity. Its about growing, bonding and realizing what it actually means to be free. And how someone who don't even matter in your life might impact it so deeply and help you become the best version of you. It's pure magic. Another thing that I really loved about it was how something which the protagonist thought as a curse was actually her calling of self discovery. Sometimes the things we think we are doing for someone are actually are the things they let us do for ourselves. We need to do those things not to help them but they let us coz we need to do them. Apart from the amazing characters I loved Ahern's writing style in this book. The protagonist is in a monologue throughout the book and she is directing it at me, as if I am the other character. A conversation the author is having with me. I loved it. It felt like talking to a stranger while they tell you things about you which you never knew. It's a genius method of story telling. Completely in awe of this beautiful book which reminds me constantly of the Year I Met #You.
