I want to echo the sentiment that whales are not inherently bad to a CS community, or really any free to play thing. If the artist has to get a tradtional job, then you won't be able to play the funny little CS game because they will be too busy trying to pay their bills just like everybody else. I don't understand the hatred of the people who are paying for the group to function. You can't have it both ways. To me, it reads as a classic case of jealousy. Maybe even envy. I can't make thousands of dollars on my (insert adjective here) art so they shouldn't either. I don't have a popular species, so they shouldn't either.
This isn't about hoarding or poor trading behavior or anything in that vein because that is individual behavior. If you don't have the money to pay for things you want, it is understandable to be jealous. I was like that as a teenager to a mild extent, but you have got to stop making it everybody else's problem and think about why you want to tear so many people down.
If you just want a species to die, okay, but this ask isn't about you. You're just a hater and that's fine. Haters also have a place.
The reality is, the people who are lucky enough to have lots of disposable income now might not always have that, just like people who don't have anything right now won't be doomed to have nothing forever. It's kind of a crapshoot. We live in a fucked up world but if you want to play a game for free and not spend a dime, someone IS going to have to pay to keep it running.
I'm not saying to glaze whales or put them on a pedestal for having a high paying job, I'm saying to mind your own business and play your art game.
