Finished my first card weaving band. I learned a lot. I really liked making it and have the next pattern and colors picked out. I took a bunch of progress pictures, I will try to add some at some point. Didn't think about the cards dropping off as I cut the warp, was a delightful surprise.

Pattern is from Tablet Weaving: Egyptian Diagonals by John Mullarkey. Outside of a few hiccups like starting the pattern backwards from the chart, it went pretty well. The side in the picture was the back of the band, I'm hoping the two sides even out a little as it sits.

If anyone has advice on finishing it please leave a comment, the warp is cotton and the weft is a mystery probably cotton but could be part acrylic. Unsure if I want to twist/braid the ends or just trim them shorter. My long term goal is to basket weaving style out a bunch of bands together into a bag. I'm not sure how well anchored the start is, but the end seems very secure.

Cards are 3d printed by @diebrarian. I finagled threading them so the cards all lined their edges at the start and that was entirely the reason I caught some of my mistakes, so I will be doing my best to do that for future projects. It also really helped to know where I was in the pattern.
