this is how i feel coming into your inbox asking to talk about bobby and cas scenarios 😭
Oooo, scenarios. I'll be thinking about it.
The hilarity of Bobby, Rufus, and Cas on the same case would drive Bobby insane, which brings me great joy to contemplate.
Rufus is, after all, one of those coming-and-going characters who arrives (and disappears) so abruptly! Not that dissimilar to how Cas can be tbh.
And often, when Rufus DOES arrive, it's because he's made a TREMENDOUS mess of things and he's like HELP ME BOBBY NOW, which is just... I love him. He's a spanner too.
Imagine a scenario where Rufus and Cas don't get along at first.
But it turns out they have surprisingly compatible communication styles.... Like... Cas is judgmental, blunt, arrogant, and occasionally kind of a dick in a way Rufus actually respects, while Rufus's abrasiveness barely registers as unusual to Cas. Rufus gradually realizes Cas means exactly what he says, and Cas comes to appreciate that Rufus doesn't expect him to be charming... just competent. Before long they're finishing each other's sentences, which is its OWN kind of horrifying and ruthlessly picking apart each other's plans.
Somehow they end up teaming up to deal with The Problem… and proceed to make an absolute disaster of whatever it is.
And Bobby's catch-phrase the whole time is, "I've got a bad feeling about this."
I don't know what exactly Rufus and Cas do, but I feel like they accidentally almost set off the Yellowstone Supervolcano or something. And Bobby intervenes just in the nick of time.
Rufus's catchphrase for this is, "It seemed like a good idea at the time."
Which is a phrase that Cas, unfortunately, picks up.
Aside/// I don't think Cas or Rufus is that good about cluing people into their plans either on the whole, which makes this extra... explosive. Hehehe. Bobby could be like, "Why do you always call me AFTER the shit's hit the fan?"
Or maybe we just cut to the phone at the bottom of a hot springs or getting trampled by wildlife because SOMEHOW both Rufus AND Cas are really bad at losing them.
