@charliecornwalls
cheering and getting giggly about lysa going "i wont let her disappear" about charlie was all fun and games until I Remembered
I can't believe you would call him a misogynist just because of his overt contempt for women. And what else? Constantly calling women bitches? But he literally has a few cool girls he approves of. For now.
today is actually killing me

Can't wait for the Marienna lore to drop.
Why did Teor say that Kattigan moved Heaven and Earth to be with her?
Was it about Kattigan's past life and how difficult it was to distance himself from it? Why? I imagine, it is not difficult to leave the Torn Banner per se, even if frowned upon.
Option 1) Kattigan has a more complicated past than we yet suspect. To that point: what is it with Wulferic? Why does Kattigan have a wolf with whom he is somehow bonded through powerful magic?
Option 2) Marienna has a very complicated past, and it was QUITE a feat to build a life with her because of it.
Option 3) BOTH
WHO WAS THAT WOMAN
A crucial part of the bookstore experience is saying hi to all the books you’ve already read
With all the talk about who should get to kill Primus I for one think that he should get taken down by a rube goldberg machine of his own terrible decisions. This is the man that tried to hack making an avenging angel for his former god to make it beholden to just him. He's so lucky it didn't immediately kill all of them. Yeah Yeah he's mister Power Word Kill look at me I don't give a shit about the druids; I will tell my only allies to their face that I was trying to subjugate them. But he's two for two on failed rituals to make himself a god king and I think the rule of threes means that the next self aggrandizing bullshit plan takes him down in the most satisfying way possible.
How many will you sacrifice?
my favorite thing about buffy the vampire slayer is that angel, spike, drusilla, and darla’s backstory is basically “they were a polycule for a little bit”
two dumb bitches looking at each other going exactlyyyyy
I mean, they look right at each other. Nobody else. Then they have a sly giggle together. … How else am I supposed to interpret this?? I can’t be the only one?!
Worked a little bit more on this one
brief thoughts on charming scoundrels (4x031 spoilers)
In 4x026, Hannan says, in reference to Mara, "I've had my fill of charming scoundrels. The price becomes high past the point that charm can ameliorate."
And that's what Julien is essentially arguing when he talks about Thjazi in 4x031 - "You all have been tricked by a person with endless charisma and cult-like personality." He essentially believes that Thjazi's charm makes people overlook his unpleasant qualities.
It is known and accepted by everyone who loves Thjazi that he was a liar and a thief.
When is the price too high for charm to make up the difference? Is it Thjazi's charm that people lean on, or is it because they believe that his intentions were always good? (and how connected are those two things -- did his charm work to make people believe his intentions were always good?)
Or, for characters like Bolaire, he got the 'scoundrel' part of Thjazi without ever getting the 'charm', and so he is frustrated and hurt and angry because of how much Thjazi gets praised by the people who got Thjazi's charm without needing to deal with the parts of him that were a scoundrel (ex. Thimble, who is okay with Thjazi lying to everyone else in the world, as long as he doesn't lie to her - note how Thimble throws the word 'liar' at Julien as if it's supposed to be a bad thing; maybe because Julien lied to her at some point?).
Being into popular ships from popular media is weak. Barely hits. To get a real high try pacing your bedroom like a caged animal at 6am obsessively thinking about an insanely niche pairing from an insanely niche piece of media, performing an imaginary ted talk to an audience of zero.
so many misguided metaphors around violence and desire. if the open maw of a panting beast fills you with the want to be devoured, that does not make you prey. while the rabbit trembles in fear, its deepest desire is to run. evolution demands it. in fact, the desire to be eaten does not make you any small animal at all.
it makes you a fruit.
every fleetwood mac documentary i've ever watched is like "the band was at the height of their success, enjoying the fame rolling in from their #1 hit 'i know about the other woman, lindsey'. however, nobody could have sensed the tension brewing between members."
"the group initially disbanded immediately after the release of the single 'well get the fuck out if you're going to be like that', leaving thousands of fans shocked."
