Would you do me a very small favor? FOR JESS MCCREADY OMG
jess was sitting on the steps of the porch, leaning back against her hands when marty approached her. she had really been hoping for a quiet afternoon, but she raised her eyebrows at the other woman to ask what she wanted.
"depends what it is."
she took one last drag from her cigarette before snubbing it against the step and pushing herself up to stand.

I just realized that many many people have jobs
Rb with your job, wtf do you people do while offline???
the music was loud at that frat party, and karen was already a little bit tipsy, a bottle of tequila in one hand, dropping shots to everyone in her vicinity, slowly shaking her hips while she was engaging with everyone as the life of the party. exams were done, so no more time spent between libraries and study halls, and she was twice as happy as on a regular friday night. then the track changes, and the blonde loudly announces that that's her song. as she's dancing with herself, her eyes lock with someone who didn't seem to be having a good time. next to them, a couple was making out, which probably wasn't pleasant to them. karen couldn't stop the smirk on her lips, and without taking those blue eyes from them, she started to dance while the rest of the people danced around her; she was intrigued by them, and still dancing, she made her way towards them.Â
          *  âĄÂ  â§Í   ËË¡ ⏌ â§Í  đ¨đŠđđ§Â đŹđđđŤđđđŤÂ ââ đđđđ đđđđ đĄđ đđđđđŚ!
devin davis was no stranger to frat parties, although she typically was there acting as a wingwoman for her friends, ready to fight anyone who dared get too handsy with them. it was a very similar situation for her tonight; a group of friends had wanted to go out and she had nothing better to do, especially since the term had just come to a close. It was easy to see that she didn't exactly fit in with the crowd, likely from a mixture of the way she dressed and the way that she hovered on the periphery of the party, mostly watching and not really engaging with what was happening around her.
she stood near the wall, a bottle of beer in hand as she watched the dance floor buzz with activity. a couple bumped her on their way past and she focused on the make out session happening just a few feet away from her; devin took another sip of her beer to resist the urge to make a sarcastic comment to them about it.

wit who was one of the key organizers of their friends group. wit who was the leader when the leader was no more. wit who does everything can to help their friends. wit who loses them anyway, one by one. wit who blames themselves for not doing enough. wit who wanders, helping those in need, and running from the friends they just couldnât save. wit who lives long past their years, knowing their friends would never be able to say the same.
wit who loves, loves, loves, yet loses it all, over and over again.
oooh you want to plot and play with my ocs sooooo badly, you know you do
pls Iâm desperate. I can put all of them into most universes, theyâre so crossover friendly
There'll always be an empty spot waiting for you
wit is such a funny guy because they are technically set in the modern era. but they're usually pretty clueless about a lot of it because they are Old and Isolated. so the still speak with the old cowboy slang. something something, guy who lost most of their world and friends and so clings to those things that make them feel closer to that, even if it means resisting change.
â§Ë° @halfterra | a buy-one-get-one cowboy sale
wit had seen and experienced a lot of strange things in their long life; they had befriended vampires, groomed werewolves, and had picnics with creatures from the deep. what they had not seen before, was a machine hovering low on the horizon. they stared up at it, watching as it sped towards them. initially, it passed over top of the wizard, but it soon reversed its course, hovering directly above them.
"ah, sprucey, i think we're in a bad box." they muttered to their horse, giving her a reassuring pat on the neck as the pair stared up at the bottom of the flying machine. it began to emit a whirring noise and a ray of green light. wit felt their body lifting from the saddle, pulled upwards by some invisible force. "i'll be back. by hook or by crook."
it didn't take long for them to be taken inside the machine where they found themselves in a sterile metal room. a strange creature entered and approached them, and wit's vision quickly faded to the black of unconsciousness.
â§Ë°
the scene they awoke to was somehow stranger than the one they had seen earlier. they seemed to be at some kind of market, but the things being sold were unlike anything they had seen before. there were vendors selling fruits, or at least what wit assumed were fruits, and other stands that seemed to be dealing in technology or weapons. wit didnât recognize anything being sold, but wasnât given much time to investigate as their captor lee them fairly quickly through the streets and alleys. they didnât know where they were being led, but based on the increasingly grimy appearance of the buildings wit could assume it would be nowhere good.
a pair of restraints had been fastened around their wrists, presumably to stop them from attacking their captor, though a small symbol traced in the air with their pointer finger and a whispered word of power was able to release their wrists. wit made another small gesture that caused a pile of crates at a nearby vendor to collapse as their captor passed by. the shopkeeper started to berate the other being, and wit used the distraction they had caused to slip quietly off into the crowded streets.
they werenât exactly stealthy; their clothing stood out like a sore thumb admits the people visiting the market and it was clear that they did not know where they were going. wit wove their way through the crowd quickly, sparing the occasional glance over their shoulder to see if they were being followed.
it was in the middle of one of these glances over their shoulder that wit collided with a man in front of them. he seemed to be human, and they supposed this would be as good a chance as any to see if they could get some help, or at the very least figure out where they were.
âexcuse me, sir- where are we right now?â they asked, again turning to look over their shoulder before turning their attention fully to the man in front of them.

You're not very tall, are you?
How do you like your brandy?
You may take off your coat and sit.
It's too hot in here for anyone who has any blood in their veins.
You can smoke here, just don't do it in front of my face.
You're looking at a very dull survival of a very dull life.
I can still speak English when my business demands it.
You didn't like working for the district attorney, eh?
What do you know about my family, [name]?
What'd you want to see me about?
I'm being blackmailed again.
[Name] has left me, about a month ago without a word.
We used to swap shots between drinks or drinks between shots.
They're alike only in having the same corrupt blood.
They have all the usual vices, besides those they've invented for themselves.
Do you want to know anything or just get rid of [him/her/them]?
I don't need any money now, but when I do, just send me the money.
Are you trying to tell me my duties?
You're a private detective? I didn't know they existed, except in books.
God, you're a mess, aren't you?
I would've thought a case like that took a little effort.
Is there any "how to be a Detective in 10 Easy Lessons, " school text-book?
I see. There is no professional secrets?
You don't have to play poker with me, [name].
I don't mind if you don't like my manners. I don't like 'em myself.
Don't waste your time trying to cross-examine me!
Do you always think you can handle people like trained seals?
I'm sure I don't care what you say, [name].
Would you do me a very small favor?
Yeah, I'm a private dick on a case.
Perhaps I'm asking too much, although it doesn't seem too much to me somehow.
Look, you got a dead man lying right at your feet.
Lie down there and be quiet.
That's a little special service I always provide all my clients. Including being insolent.
You'd do anything for [him/her/them], wouldn't you?
I don't slap so good around this time of the evening.
Those are harsh words to throw at me, especially when I am walking out of your bedroom.
Don't you ever go to bed? What you been doing?
What would anybody be doing down there?
The wound had already bled under the skin while they were still alive.
You better tell me what you're working on, [name]!
This doesn't look like the way you'd handle it.
Give me another day, [name]. I may have something for you.
I was beginning to think perhaps you worked in bed like Marcel Proust.
There isn't much money in this business, if i'm being honest.
Perhaps it wouldn't have been such a bad idea.
A woman telephoned me shortly after this thing was delivered.
Do you know where this picture was taken?
You were afraid that they might turn up something, which I couldn't sit on just yet.
I hope the police never traces that call.
I'm trying to find out why do you want to find out things I have been working on.
Anyway, it'll give us something to talk about next time we meet.
Do you remember me now? Hmm?
How much do you remember about last night?
As a matter of fact, I wouldn't say anything about anything.
Your story didn't sound quite right.
Blood. Quite a lot of blood.
I think we'll let the police in on this.
I could make it my business. I could make your business mine.
I wondered why you didn't ask me who I was.
You know, you talk too much.
I might even make it worth your while to talk to me.
Why don't you call the cops like you said you would?
I think you better get out of here.
Take it away and play on it somewhere else.
What did you come up here for?
I don't know how you got here, but I don't want you. Will you get out?
Can't you talk without pointing that gun?
Who are you? What do you get out of this?
Wait a minute, what do you mean, a couple of murders?
Well, then, nothing happened, so I got tired of waiting and went home.
Tell me, what do you usually do when you're not working?
I don't wanna hurt you. I'm tryin' to help you.
We could have had a lot of fun, if you weren't a detective.
You know, there's one thing that puzzles me. You don't seem in much of a hurry to find [name].
I can't imagine, unless you're worried about where I am all the time.
You weren't worried about me, were you? Afraid I'd get hurt?
You've already been paid, haven't you?
Kissing you is all right. It's nice. I'd like to do more of it.
If you say that again, I'll keep on saying it until I find out.
I'm trying to think of something appropriate.
You know, I think you're telling the truth, for a change.
Mm-mm. I can't afford to be seen with you.
I wanted to tell you, you can stop worrying and call off your bloodhounds.
You could've yelled for help!
Don't you even want to know who I am?
Do you want to know what I've got, or don't you?
You can get yourself hurt, kicking on doors.
Light me a cigarette, will you?
Will you get out of this and stay out if I let you go?
Get that knife and cut these ropes!
I don't suppose there's a gun around here?
I didn't have a chance to thank you for what you did back there.
I guess.. I'm in love with you.
You're the one who's shaking now.
What's the matter, haven't you ever seen a gun before?
What do you want me to do, count three like they do in the movies?
Nothing you can't fix.
