Man, we have got to stop treating art like it has an expiration date. That show stopped airing? Doesn’t mean it can’t haunt your every waking thought. Everybody’s into this album, but you don’t have the energy for new music right now? It’ll be waiting for you when you’re ready. That movie’s fifty years old and indie as shit? Incredible, you have the chance to share it with folks who might never otherwise feel that particular punch of delight. Books don’t go bad. Shows inspire fandoms decades after they’ve wrapped up. We’re still looking at cave paintings and statue work from ancient times and letting the joy of creation bring tears to our eyes. That’s the point of art. It’s as close to immortality as we ever get. Why try to give that magic a shelf life?

Jiung sucks in a lungful of air when you push him down on the sofa in his living room.
It tastes like you, flushed and familiar.
He's quick to pull you with him, not wanting to part for more than a millisecond if he can help it. You laugh oh, so prettily at the small whine falling from his pretty lips, leaning down to kiss him unhurriedly. His hands roam along your silhouette as he hums into the kiss, entirely content as you follow him down.
You spread your thighs on each side of his and he sighs at the feeling of you surrounding him, opening his eyes to look at you questioningly when you part, only to find you pressing a finger to the sweet little pout forming on his lips at the distance.
You smile down at him as you pull on his lip to catch a peek of the ink hidden there. The lines are turning a cloudy grey, already having lost some of their definition, but the sight of them still makes your breath catch.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me," you say, flicking your eyes up to his with the rise of an eyebrow before looking back down not even a second later, transfixed.
Jiung's goes to reply, quickly giving up and whining when you still don't let his lip go.
"Sorry, what was that?" you laugh. He grabs a handful of your ass firmly, raising his eyebrows expectantly. His attitude makes you laugh as you release him, pressing a kiss to the tip of his nose in apology. He goes cross-eyed trying to follow the action. Cute.
"You're mean, you know that?" he pouts, fingers absentmindedly tapping against your jeans as he looks up at you.
"You love it."
"Unfortunately."
You laugh happily, sitting down properly, ass resting on his thighs while you take in the sight of him. He leans back, relaxing into your attention with a dopey smile on his face. His hair is unstyled and parting over his forehead in the way you adore, his body is covered by grey sweatpants and your sweatshirt and (a lethal combination), warm and steady under you.
His skin breaks into goosebumps when your finger trace down his neck, along the thin, silver chain of his necklace, swallowing hard and parting his lips in a wobbly breath when you touch the opal moon pendant resting on his skin, steadily heating up under your ministrations. He eyes the matching pendant hanging from your neck, black tourmaline to match his tattoo, breathing heavier the more the tips of your fingers trace along his skin.
He's always been sensitive to your touch and he still finds himself reacting just like the first time. He thinks he probably always will, no matter how many times he gets to revel in the feeling of it.
"Said I would've told you earlier if I knew you'd react like this," he says, voice low and a little rough even if all you'd done was kiss. He doesn't care. Likes you knowing the effect you have on him.
You just hum, looking at him. His fingers twitch. You smile at his impatience. He's content to let you take your time with him, but the warmth of you matched with the lazy smile on your slightly kiss-swollen lips and the weight of your hand now resting at the base of his neck makes him feel just a tad insane.
The feeling blooms tenfold when you press your fingers lightly on each side of his throat, testing and smiling wider when he flushes deeper under you, breath catching and chest rising with the breath he shakily manages.
"You're so hot, Jiung," you tell him sweetly, shuffling forward a little more where you're undoubtedly going to feel him, already hardening. Your hand gripping his chin to angle his head the way you want it makes him twitch. Your voice drops. "You're so good to me."
"My pretty baby," you whisper as you lean in, pressing your lips against the corner of his mouth, smiling when he makes a sound of protest, hand coming up to the back of your neck to guide you to him. "Whiny baby." Another kiss to his cupids bow.
His hand sneaks under the waistband of your jeans, making you shiver. The movement goes straight to his crotch, and you seem to take pity on him when you feel him twitch pitifully again, the accompanying chuckle more of a breath ghosting over his skin than anything else.
He sighs and brings a hand to the side of your face when you finally fit your lips to his, warm and sure and maddening. He doesn't waste a second more, kissing back like his life depends on it. Your fingers weave in between the strands at the back of his head and holding him as if he'd be stupid enough to wanna move away.
He loves when your possessive side comes out, knowing he's fully yours.
His lower lip stings when you bite down, the intensity of it has his hips bucking up on their own accord as his fingers dig into your skin. It's quickly soothed by the warmth of your tongue, pulling a whimper from the depths of his chest - the first of many, he quickly realises when you start rolling your hips - dragging along his twitching length.
When you pull back for air, Jiung's dizzy. Lightheaded. His hand falls from your face, landing on the sofa with a silent thud. The way you're looking at him makes him shiver and his throat works around a swallow when he looks back at you. You chuckle, shaking your head to yourself and biting your lip as he sits there, half lying against the backrest, fingers stroking your waist.
"What?" he asks breathlessly.
"Nothing, just lucky you're mine," you smile, taking his hand in yours and bringing it to your lips. He all but melts, overcome with so much love that the intensity of it knocks his brain off kilter.
"Yours," he whispers, the words barely louder than the dull roar in his ears.
You bring your hand to the side of his face when you kiss him again, slow. Soft and yet, somehow deeper than any of the previous ones you've shared tonight. Your thumb strokes over the apple of his cheek as you hum into his mouth, tentatively rocking your hips again, laughing fondly when he groans.
"Baby," he manages between kisses. Lord knows what he's asking for, at this point. He's entirely content just sitting here with you, kissing and watching the embers glow. He's entirely content watching you fan the embers into a flame if you so wish.
The answer seems to be something in between the two, because the hand holding his carefully leads him to your waist to free itself. To touch his chest, it turns out. He gasps when you roll his nipple between your fingers, pinching playfully to get him to whine into your mouth before releasing him to stroke your thumb over it lovingly.
Jiung loses track of time, entirely focused on the shared touches, soft moans and slick sounds of your lips meeting again and again. His bottom lip is swollen and tingly from the continued nibbles, the soothing warmth of your tongue licking over it in apology again and again. He feels floaty under your weight keeping him safely tethered to himself, even as he feels like he might leave his body at any second.
At some point, you to part to stifle a yawn, and the sight is so fucking cute he can't help but coo and pull you to his chest. You go willingly, wrapping your arms around him and resting against his body, fully yawning now. He kisses the top of your head, stroking up and down your spine, warm and grounding.
"I love you," he whispers.
"Mmm, love you too." You turn to lazily press a kiss to his chest through the fabric of your sweatshirt covering him, sitting askew from your shenanigans. You yawn again, and he finds himself following shortly after.
"Don't think I'm done with you yet, though," you slur sleepily, landing a weak poke to his ribs.
He croaks a laugh, yawning again.
"Wouldn't dream of it, honey."

Huge shout out to all the people who read fics. Who actually take the time out of their busy days to open a fic and read it
Before I started writing in earnest, I did not understand how much writing was going to eat into my fic reading time. We joke about having too many tabs open, but I have a different problem: the amount of tabs I have open on new fics is way smaller than it used to be. My ao3 wrapped would be a sad affair. Unless I’ve subscribed to an author or come across something on my dash, I basically don’t see it
Which has really driven home for me how much fandom cannot just be creators. You have to have people who want to read fic and meta discussions and joke posts. You have to have people who want to look at art and gifs. It has to be mutual.
Community thrives on flow. You have to have that movement of people sharing things with each other for a community to exist
I always forget there are maga people on tumblr, this doesn’t feel like a website you’d find them on, so to keep them away:

chat reminder to just write whatever the fuck you want. write that overused trope. write that obscure shit that no one will have heard of. just. do it. your writing is yours stop depriving it of that.
i think love is stored in nighttime conversations and “did you eat yet” and books left outside your door and “i waited to watch this with you” and splitting something in half to share and “im proud of you” and folded towels and “you can pick” and heads on shoulders and “you’re right, that was shitty. im sorry” and knocks on doors and “DINNER!” and stupid jokes and “hey i got this for you” and coffee made just right and… there are so many ways people say i love you silently every day over and over again if you only listen
hey, you. yeah, you. you know you don't have to be a girl if you hate it, right? you don't need to be a boy if you hate it either. hell, you don't need to be either a girl or a boy. it's okay to not be what you were told at birth. it's okay. i promise. your presence as a trans person is a blessing to the world. if being a boy, a girl, neither, both, something else, WHATEVER, makes you happy? do it. even if you can only do it online, be online. you are another star in the world. i love you and so many others do too.
Anyone and everyone CAN write. The world’s most skilled writer didn’t start off skilled. The key is that they practice hard by writing a lot.
As long as you write, you are practicing your craft and you are getting better at writing. But you will never get anywhere if you let AI write for you.
everyone always surprised when you can learn bits of information about them from the characters they make... dearly beloved. you took a lump of clay with no form and shaped it with your hands and thought you wouldn't leave fingerprints? what hubris! you leave scraps of yourself in everything you make. sometimes it's a lot more than scraps but just for you i'll pretend i didn't notice
