This isnt Canon like at all but I have sad ideas so here you go!

Darks mother didnt have real time to bond with him, when he was born she held him until they cut the cord and once that was done he was taken by doctors, the magic light users dad (he has a fucking name i dont remember what it is) lied and said she'd be able to see him briefly as he grew up but that never really ended up happening, the lie was that he was to "unstable" as a new born and a dark magic user. instead she saw him once after when he was in a tiny bassinet as she was wheeled to a small recovery room.

Extra sad if she died later from broken heart syndrome

Istg if dark was like grown in some petrie dish im gonna be so sad that this little hc won't work, also yes I am comically bad at names and didnt wanna bother going through the series again to figure out what's his faces name
