i want to preface that i haven't seen this word be used in mogai spaces as of yet, but i feel it's something worth bringing attention to given how it's becoming a bit more popular and widespread online as a whole. i honestly don't think a lot of people using it online, especially in lighthearted ways, don't understand the terms history which is in part why i'm making this post. people should be aware of the history and meaning behind the word.
the word "foid" is misogynistic, point blank. for those unaware, the word 'foid' which can also be written as 'femoid' comes from incel communities, such as 4chan, and is a combination of the words female and android used to dehumanize and describe women. the word seems to actively be becoming more normalized and by proxy the dehumanization of woman is becoming (more) normalized. i've mainly seen it be used on tiktok and instagram, though i'm sure it's being used on other social media sites but i don't use them in order to know; from what i've seen it is used in a lighthearted manner mostly but i have seen posts use it in the original derogatory way.
from what i've been able to find when trying to do more research into the term, it seems to have started in forum culture, much like incel, in the late 200s/early 2010s. it was and still is used to insult women, mock experiences, and furthering misogynistic beliefs. unfortunately i can't find posts with the exact origin of the word given the nature of forum sites, especially ones like 4chan, not being archived properly and posts being deleted after a while. however i was able to find posts and articles describing the terms origins, meanings, and examples of it being used in a derogatory manner which i will include below.

I think it's also relevant to point out that the -oid affix in a derogatory manner stems from scientific racism, with the relevant terms being these (link) two (link). Wikipedia pages are linked primarily so I do not have to write them out, so please be warned. Both are slurs that historically referred to other races as biologically separate and inferior to white people.
The first is an anti-Black slur that is in active use to this day. Among its usages includes one of the founding fathers of the USA proposing [slur]ism, believing that blackness was a disease that could be "cured".
The second is an anti-Asian and anti-indigenous slur that also saw use as an ableist medical term against those with Down syndrome. Nowadays, it's frequently used as the equivalent of the r-slur.
Both are thrown around the same 4chan-related circles that foid stems from, and the choice to use it to refer to women, especially women of color, as an inferior class feels intentional to me.

Gooseworx has made a lot of racist & misogynistic remarks. A lot. And weird hitler jokes. And shit about shadman too! Made sexual comments at a minor. Defended someone doing the same. IIRC she never even tried to apologize for the N slur thing. She's said a lot of weird shit about "traumatizing kids sexually". Glitch have collaborated with Black Gryph0n, who is a known groomer, Jschlatt who is notoriously edgy, and Zach Hadel who is. Zach hadel. (I don't have a link for this but you can easily find it). More n slur stuff. Defending russia during the ukraine war. There's more I can't remember.
I don't quite remember much about the other Glitch shows. I know they also hired an "anti woke" type of guy, who has drawn lolicon, to cover Isn't She Lovely (A song written by a Black man about his daughter.) There was a weird police brutality "joke" in the TADC merch shop. Other weird stuff in the shop.
I shouldn't need more reasons, but I will say this anyway. The Glitch fandom is the worst fandom I've ever encountered.
I have seen horrific racism in the fandom. I have been called insane, psychotic, the r slur, idiot for criticizing the shows. I have heard the term media illiteracy about 100 times because I dare not like a show. I have of course had people say "ugh dumb TMEs can't understand good shows". I have been sent gore over this once. I have been sent physical assault threats. I have had my abuse trauma mocked for wanting a trigger warning for the (quite realistic) depiction of choking in TADC episode 9. I have had my trauma mocked for saying that Jax's behavior reminds me of my abuser. I have been accused of transmisogyny for saying that Jax is bad transfem representation. Been told I'm a danger to trans women. And I am still white. All of this has been done a million times worse to POC and especially Black people in this fandom.
I just don't feel safe even seeing content about glitch productions shows anymore.

one who is Avery from SFAWTDE in any and every conceivable, possible way. one does not just relate to Avery, one is not Avery for fun; simply, one has always been and always will be Avery. this causes one to feel (often extreme) dysphoria and frustration when others refer to their identity as Avery as separate from them (e.g. referring to their identity in the third person.) they may also feel threatened when other people identify as Avery.
