opinions on radqueer ideology

this survey is COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS, and is open to anyone who wants to take it regardless of your stance on radqueer. THIS SURVEY CONTAINS

(note: i am not radqueer, i am simply cross-tagging to reach more people)

most of this is about radqueer ideology (such as transidentities and contact stances) but some of it is about general queer discourse. obviously i dont support every single answer choice in the survey, i just want to include everyones opinion regardless of whether or not i agree. i tried to have the answer choices be similar to trends i see in communities, but if i dont have an answer that fully fits you, sorry about that!

i made this survey because a lot of peoples' opinions dont seem to align with what i thought their communities' opinions were, so i wanted to see if peoples' opinions within communities are as different as it seems like they are. im not trying to push any specific ideology or answer choice with this, i just Love statistics and surveys lmao

Using Japanese names as a Non-Japanese person

I feel as if it is a big problem in the mogai and NPT community, and most platforms in general, of people using cultural names without being a part of that culture; especially ones like Japanese, Chinese, or Korean. They aren't aesthetics, they're cultures, and by using closed culture's names you're appropriating it, and cultural appropriation can be viewed as racist or xenoist. A lot of actual Japanese people disapprove of people who aren't Japanese using cultural names and it's very frowned upon, as it should be. Japanese characters hold cultural significance and using them without knowing what they actually mean is highly disrespectful.

Now if you are actually learning Japanese, planning to live in or living in Japan, or if the name was given to you by someone who is Japanese then by all means, use it. But otherwise, still to names in open or your own cultures, I'm sure there are lovely names there.

This isn't just about Japanese names, it goes for all other closed cultures. Embrace YOUR culture, don't steal from others. Being a fictive/fictionkin, transgender, a system, etc is not an excuse.
