The best thing about having mutuals who knows more about a certain topic or fandom than you do is that you can literally ask them if something is accurate and then get like a million other cool facts you can incorporate into your writing.

God sometimes I'm writing smut and I'll like, delete a sentence because I'm like, no, I can't write that. It's too indulgent. And then it's like. Girl, what the fuck are you even going to the candy store for if you're just going to buy raisins. Get real.
"what the fuck are you even going to the candy store for if you're just going to buy raisins" is honestly the thing I needed to hear today
Sometimes you hear a song and a fic pops into your head full formed. This is a trap. The fic may be fully formed in your brain, but you still Have to write it down. This is an important step that most people forget about.
Pope Leo XIV wrote 42.3K words on human dignity in the age of AI. (But Ellipsus has written over 65K words on the topic since 2023. 💪)
Solidarity is a weird thing… all of a sudden you’re seeing the Pope on your dash and the tea is… piping hot? (To offset the Vatican.va link, here's a tl;dr from The Onion.) ... Look at him go!
(Disagreements with his Holiness aside, it’s great to see a powerful figure power taking the side of the people.) ... EDIT: Wake up babe, a new Inquisition just dropped - apparently, not even the Pope can escape being wrongly accused by AI "verifiers."

Oh... Oh, this is beautiful
@choi-randomblog would love this
When the writing is flowing and I'm vibing then a plot hole hits out of nowhere
fuck it, i'm curious. reblog and tag with the first fictional death to ever rewrite your brain chemistry and/or make you cry like a baby. mine was ares from the underland chronicles (who, for context, was a giant bat.) to this day i will weep if i think too hard about it. okay, go.
anything u think about YOUR life after 10pm is bs to be ignored. anything u think about a character’s life after 10pm should be posted about online and expanded on for paragraphs. :)
(so mad i can’t see straight) Yeah i just don’t think chat gpt is a good classroom tool
hnk era pls come back
I think it would be really funny if pantalone turned out to be Baizhu's crackhead family member who is magically related to him somehow lmao
Me: Puppet Strings 8th chapter is going great, guys!

I'm having feelings today about Tamayo and Shinobu's partnership and the parallels they endured, and how their battle together started long before that night and how it still went on long after their horrible ends. Even though we only got hints of what their month or so of interaction was like, it was obvious that it started in a distasteful, distrustful place for both of them. Despite Tamayo's willingness to accept Tanjiro, she had centuries of reason to avoid that organization that hunts down her kind, and despite Shinobu's repeated statements of how much better it would be to get along with demons, the thought disgusted and tired her. But they were both mature enough to prioritize a common goal and be professionally courteous of one another. By the end we know that they respected one another's expertise, and that Shinobu went so far as to have admiration for Tamayo and see humanity in her. On Tamayo's part, I can't imagine her not developing some care and concern for Shinobu, even while helping her succeed with a plan that would kill her. They both worked knowing what was coming, both for themselves and each other. They both faced the reality that this was all they were capable of, for both had spent years bound down by their own limitations. They both fully accepted their fate and gave each other the strength to make those sacrifices work. Even if they never reached the point of friendship in that month they battled together, they must have shared a bond over this.

That fic you wrote?
The one about the ship no one else cares about, or the deeply unpopular character, or the extremely unusual AU?
The fic that got no comments or kudos when you posted it?
Months or years from now, that fic might be exactly what someone is looking for in the sea of fics about all the popular characters, ships, and AUs.
Your fic might be the only fic out there that has what someone is looking for. The only fic that scratches the itch that it turns out you and that reader share.
And that's awesome.
Writer culture is me agaonising on whether to use British Engish (that I speak) or Amereican English (that the characters speak in the dub) when writing for an anime fandom,
…but in reality, no one cares either way
I learned both (non-native speaker here) but on the highest levels I was taught mostly British English, so I often do a weird mixture of both and only in the rereading do I tweak some parts.
