 The Different Shades of the Faceless Alien : 

The show offers a mix of lyrics, soundscapes, dance and video. Both actors are mirrors of existence. They stand out from the traditional theater by mixing tragedy and comedy and quickly rotating different subjects, which can be abstract, absurd, or quite normal. These rapid changes are inspired by the hyperkinetic use of the media that characterizes the generation of the Internet and the rapid impulses of the human brain.

The night shop has different relationships with museums and galleries. A market, good light, consuming visitors, ... '' Chez Madeleine '' stands straight ahead to '' office baroque '' and offers a counterbalance to the ruling art market.

Ivan Schauvliege 

Performer, choregrapher

Ivan Schauvliege (°1985) from Belgium, Graduated in 2008 at the Rotterdam Dance Academy as a dancer and choreographer. As a creator he is looking for interdisciplinarity in composition as well as in the performers.

He started creating his own work at a young age and performed in several theatres and festivals in Belgium and Holland, among which ‘Urban Explorers Festival’, ‘worteldagen’ and ‘Licht Gekanteld’. He was the choreography assistant for the creation of ‘With/Without’ By Michael Schumacher.

In the last year he danced at the Royal Flemmish Opera and Fondation Béjart and created repertory for Codarts Rotterdam, Dansstudio Arabesque and De Compagnie.

He’s currently part of the ’20For Brussels’ collective

Interactive performance project @ Neu West Berlin.

9-day residency in Neu West Berlin for 9 performances with poetry, philosophy, rituals, movement, cinema, virtual reality and electronic music. All in interaction with sound and light installations.

Every being around us transmits knowledge about life and human identity, which we translate into artistic expression. Open Art is a community aiming to connect individuals to a higher state of consciousness according to the idea that the more an individual stretch out the boundaries of his ego, the more informations he’s able to receive and share with the collective consciousness of all beings. As the first event of this community, Linked Alone will bring together artists from different horizons to perform the collective consciousness into an informatic server. All performances are going to be caught in this server and performed also as entities with sounds, lights, projection, or interaction leading to an «over connecting» point. By reaching its paroxysm, all the knowledge about life and individuals will increasingly blind everyone leading to a big black out.

27 / 02 / 2017 CHPT.01 presents Do not Open 2 in collaboration with the Do not open Gallery.

'Do not open 2' is the outcome of a three week residency at workspace LaVallée. A collaboration of 7 young artists exploring music, dance and visual art resulting in a 40 minutes long performance.

'Do not open 2' is het resultaat van een drieweekse residentie in de werkplek LaVallée. Een collaboratie van 7 jonge artiesten die muziek, dans en beeldende kunst aftasten met uitkomst een 40 minuten durende voorstelling.

'Do not open 2' est un collaboration de 7 jeunes artistes qui explore musique, danse et art visuel dans l'espace de travail LaVallée qui a résulté dans un performance de 40 minutes.

##5 November 2016 - CHPT.01 presents Do Not Open w/ Do Not Open Gallery

The DO NOT OPEN O1 event is a collaboration between the Chapter 01 collective and the Do Not Open gallery. It is a cycle of performances whose first episode took place at the Maritime Garden of Brussels, a precarious occupation in Moleenbeek Brussels. During this event, artists were invited to create an installation linked to an artistic performance. For almost a month, the artists invited to participate in the first cycle invested a precarious occupation and have created a space dedicated to Performing Arts.

Each artist, curated his space in one of the cabinets shown in the picture above: painters, musicians, DJs, dancers, comedians and poets have worked with their hands to set up an art piece. During the even a ceremony master designates a person in the audience who will open one of the cabinets. And the performance corresponding to the installation in the cabinet begins : the artist emerges from the silence and put the medium with which he works in action.

CHPT.01.00 - Beginning of a young artist collective Chapter One

01; The evening would take place in the Brazilian Embassy. We proposed them our idea and the ambassadors assistants were fine with it, we had a perfect space to organise our stuff ...on... Brazilian domain..., I'm so grateful: that meant that if we would go too noisy the cops would basically not even be able to get in our place because we were in another country.. so they needed permission from the Brazilian government if they would want to enter lol.

Marjolein Guldentops exposes her work. Tina Herbots exposes her work. Pommelien Koolen exposes her work.

Mannequins on 7th Street will be playing live. Saji Debongnie will be the host. Boekaerts Marnik will set up his lamps. Alan Van Rompuy will make some nice music. Jérémie Richelieu Zagba will hiphopperdyship. Oscar Cassamajor and Elias Baudouin will show us their danceperformance with some nice bassplaying.

Vincent Pieraerd will celebrate his birthday.
