I honestly think that the reason that twitter and tik tok think that tumblr is dead is that it does not have an algorythym that spoon feeds you content in the same way, there's no fyp and there's no news feed in the same way and people come here not realising they actually have to follow creators to see content.
Literally yes
On one hand really easy to get echo chambered on the other hand they think we are dead and it should stay that way
It's actually harder to get echo chambered on Tumblr, because posts travel organically and are bound to attract people you never expected to attract, while the algorithm-based feeds tend to feed you what you already consume.
My mutuals constantly post content I hate and that's healthy
#it does have an algorithm its just not as in your face as other social media#if you want to see curated content you get things like the 'you might like' posts#the explore page#and recommended blogs#its not constantly on your dashboard because tumblr has learned its users hate being reminded they are on a social media#like look at the reaction to anything staff has done ever especially the stuff they make us see on our dashboards#we never respond nicely to that everyone hates it lol
