I checked the FAQ I swear. lol. I've always wondered about the angel during All I Ask of You and AIAOY Reprise. What is it like behind there and how does the Phantom sit/lay back there and stay so still? Sometimes I've seen it sway a little, but I honestly think it's just because it's suspended on lines. Any info?

I have heard Phantoms almost falling asleep to miss their cue, others doing crossword, and yet others writing shopping lists… Whatever to zoom out long enough to be able to sit all still and listen to AIAOY yet another time.

You basically sit on a small metal platform or frame built on top of the angel, and you’re strapped in for safety reason. Here’s the Golden Angel in West End:

There is a cusion/stool like thing in the middle which I assume the Phantom kneels or sits on. But I have also seen flatter platform structures at the back of the angel, so it might vary.
