it's quite funny to me that people complain about kaz's line to inej about her being different from the other girls at the menagerie on the show being "out of character" or "divergent from canon" as if kaz didn't canonically go to the menagerie routinely for years and pay heleen for information gathered by those girls and only helped inej get out when she showed skills that could be of value to him, and even then did not help her out of the goodness of his heart but to have an asset that could help him in his plans. it's almost as if people forget that kaz brekker is a morally corrupt character who has had to forego any semblance of his humanity in order to survive in a city where the only thing kindness will get you is a trip on the reaper's barge
