What a coincidence that only women of color are rotated out of the Pitt for the sake of medical realism, which we know is true because the writers told us. Also a very cool coincidence that the writers of the Pitt are the only white men in history with no personal biases to examine that could be subconsciously affecting their writing decisions. hey so I actually think it might be a conflict of interest to let Noah Wyle write an episode of the Pitt. Like it may be done, but the premise of the show is a team of healthcare workers in a Pittsburgh hospital, dealing with the stressors of working in the ER, not Noah Wyle writing 40 minutes of screen time for Noah Wyle in which he gives himself a big hero speech and turns a moment of valid commentary on how American healthcare treats marginalized people into a dark joke about his own character’s suicidal ideation. like it hasn’t been beaten into us for 13 fucking episodes (this season) that Robby is suicidal

i think the most interesting thing about the speculation around the pitt’s potential emmy nominations is that people who think taylor and gerran shouldn’t be nominated because they didn’t do enough this season are correct, but propping up isa and patrick as alternatives is missing the point of the problem because zero actors on the pitt were given emmy worthy material to show off their talent this season with the exception of wyle and lanasa. this isn’t saying that i don’t think certain people are capable of winning emmys — every pitt ensemble member could win an emmy if they were given the opportunity in the writing. personally, i’d love to see brendan mendez homer and amielynn abellera get large enough arcs to be nominated because if nominated, i think they’d have a serious chance of winning.

but the joke is that the pitt is simply uninterested in writing compelling material for anyone else than noah wyle and katherine lanasa, now including shawn hatosy who won last year but was given next to nothing to work with this year. i can’t make a genuine argument for anyone new to get nominated this year (except sepideh moafi), especially when comparing their performances against people from other shows. it doesn’t matter how good an actor is in their role if the role is flat. comparing individual performances and trying to create a hierarchy is pointless when everyone is getting screwed over. all the arguing does is tell the writers’ room that they can keep tossing their actors scraps and the fans will do the campaigning on twitter rather than having to do their cast justice by giving them material and screen time that do their talents justice.

Samira Mohan showed up on screen and I sobbed and I don’t get it like I get it but I’m 20 this shouldn’t matter to me but it does and it’s fucking Mohan apologizing to Robby. it’s her telling him that “we need you” something that he should have told her. Something your mentor is supposed to tell you.

It's just so disrespectful that he refuses to learn how to pronounce a non-english name of someone he's worked with for a while. She's being bullied out of the ED by a man who doesn't respect her enough to learn her name.

samira mohan you were genuinely the most capable individual ever and abbot was right, you are the future of medicine. her in that mci really showed that she’s capable of anything and it’s a disservice to her character and her values to watch her be trodden on in s2.

as for supriya ganesh, i hope they get every single award and every single role they audition for ever they’re the best fucking person!!!
