any and everybody who says the jjba arstyle is "ugly" is the weakest link and i dont really want to speak to you im sorry (not really)
it's not "ugly" actually it's unique. the reason you think so is because, assuming you consume anime/manga fairly frequently, they all have the same/identical artstyles. characters sometimes look the same, too. hirihiko araki doesn't follow that flow. (some of...) his characters look like people you could find in real life if you tried. excluding jotaro im.. im not sure if there are real 17 year-olds who are as buff and as tall as him. not necessarily saying it isnt possible i just think its extremely rare LMAOOOO
its writing is interesting, too. maybe im just stupid, but you'd probably think jolyne, a character who has the ability to unravel her body into string, facing a guy who can summon GENUINE METEORS, would die at his hand. but no, somehow some way, she digs up her butt and finds a way to beat him.
another thing that really draws me in is character designs. maybe i've seen someone dressed similarly to polnareff or kakyoin because their fits are pretty tame but i've never seen someone who has bruno's zipper swag. anasui's stripper swag. like there is actually Something To Look At with Araki's characters and its amaaaziinnggg
and the story... i'm not saying that there hasn't been any anime/manga that dealt with really weird family lineages or vampires or spirits n shit but i genuinely think big billy goat Hirihiko Araki is the best to ever do it.
letting the artstyle stop you from experiencing all of this greatness is a skill issue i fear
like... sorry, but i'd rather be shown something "ugly" yet fun, different, and entertaining than the same 15 smooth faced protagonists from anime that all have identical plots. if you think about it, in a way it's basically a weird animanga echo chamber
