      A snort. Matt really exposed himself and didn’t even have to get interrogated. “Pbth. Oh, really? Has it worked?” Teasing came naturally, even if it was working on him— very easily. It certainly didn’t help how heavy his eyes were. Or the soft brushing through his unkempt hair. He couldn’t help closing his eyes for a moment— just to rest them— as he sighed into the purple sleeve.

      “Ah, yes. You caught me, Matt. I stole a nap with you.” He mumbled, a half smile escaping. At this rate, he really felt the moment he stopped talking he would fall asleep. Which obviously meant to never stop talking. “You’re a terrible pillow.”

     His eyes watched carefully as the other slowly moved, which seemed scarier than it really should have considering who he was watching, but he couldn’t help but smile at the pink that crossed Tord’s cheeks. Maybe he was a little to excited to see it, like the worry that filled him from the sluggishness that he displayed simply vanished!                And without it Matt moved to sit next to him on the couch, a hand moving to his knee.  “ Well if you didn’t get much sleep because you were reading your Hentai, you can always sleep now !! “  Pulling his hand away he moved it to wrap around the back of the couch to get more comfortable, his grin growing ever stronger.  “ You know people say I make a great pillow !! “

    That was true. It wasn’t like he was doing work since he was hanging out here. “I suppose you are right—” Body leaned back into the couch, finger brushing under his eye to wipe the sleep away. Eyes catching the red head’s hand— offering his leg as a pillow? A wistful pang struck through his chest at the thought. Affection though? Pbthth.

    “Oh, really?” Playful uncertainty to Matt’s statement left his lips, attempt to hide whatever worn embarrassment he had. Body turned towards him, resting his head on Matt’s arm on the couch before a finger gently prodding Matt’s cheek. “Pbth— I just can’t imagine anyone saying that.”

Features remain unmoved, gaze fixated on the grinning mastermind. Now he understood what all the fuss was about all those days ago. Those smokey eyes shifting in his direction, a sly smile creeping its way onto his face. Edd should have known something had occurred, but the ever so tall brunet was blindsided by activities within his room or discussions between him and his friends.

Fingertips still held onto the cola can, pressure applied to the cool metal, denting it slightly. All he wanted to do was enjoy his day by drinking one of his many colas while sketching on loose leaf paper. Instead, he was rewarded by the empty container and the ever so mischievous smile. 

      ❝      Were you really waiting all this time for me to notice ?      ❞

Of course, he was, why wouldn’t he ? Eyes roll, up and around his sockets, disgruntled by it all. Seconds passed before a realization hit, one that brought his brows to arch and lips to part in a small ‘ O ‘.  

       ❝       Wait, what did you do with the cola ?! Did you just — Did you just dump it onto the ground or something ?!         ❞

    A snort and a shake of his head as his laughter slowly softened. Did Edd think he stood around all this time waiting?... Maybe every once in awhile when he remembered, but surely that didn’t count. “I forgot. You took too long. Have you weakened on how much coke you drink?” He teased, grin widening around his gap tooth. 

    The next question stopped him in his tracks, though. Realizing his fatal mistake in this prank. Something Edd would never forgive. He hadn’t even thought about it while pouring it into the sink. “Pfffbth.” He laughed again, “No. I drank it.” Laughter again exploded, as if the notion was simply ridiculous. Just to really sell it.

    As if show a lack of guilt for Edd to be suspicious, distance was cut and an arm wrapped around Edd’s back. “Come on, I’ll get you more. Promise.”

arms wrap around his red hooded counterpart. nose buries into the crook of his neck, not wanting to move from the warm spot stationed on the couch.

     Body weighed down by the artist, his own personal heater in this cold winter weather. Sure, he’d like to continue his reading, but it was hard when Edd’s warmth and weight made things so... cozy? His eye lids kept drooping, dozing for short periods and waking up confused about how he fell asleep. Surrender was given as he felt warm breath on his neck from the artist settling even further in. Edd had foiled his plans once again. 

      Book abandoned on the couch armrest, Tord finally curled into him, resting his cheeks on Edd’s and arm draped over his side. For real, how could someone that can be such a butthole sometimes be so soft? It was simply the worst. 

     “I was trying to read.” He softly whispered his complaint; finger tracing circles into the corner of his shoulder blade. “I don’t know who’s worse. You or Ringo?”

Matt takes Tord's hand into his and kisses it softly, before letting go and taking AT LEAST three steps back. He doesn't really want to be close enough to get hit if what he did didn't sit well with friend. " I- Hope you're feeling better. "

“Mm—” An embarrassed noise escaped his lips, cheeks slightly tinted as his body tensed abruptly to the feeling of lips against his hands— bloodied with chewing on his cuticles. Affection certainly was the last thing he expected, after dealing with trying to manage the red army over the phone in his lab. He wished to join them already, managing long distance was always stressful and frustrating. Especially when he’s short on two whole nights of sleep, running simply on coke and coffee. 

The ghostly feeling of the kiss on his hand was pulled into his chest as Matt leaped away hastily. Even though the gesture was far from unwelcomed, sluggishness made it hard to respond, as if Tord was simply buffering right there. Oh, Matt was worried? A nervous thought, considering the secrecy of his troubles, but his red cheeks darkened anyways. 

      “Ah, Matt. Sweet sweet Matt.” His voice jokingly condescending as he attempted to wave off his concern for him. “You’re exa—gerating. I am simply tired after late night reading.” A hand reached over to squeeze Matt’s forearm, dorky grin showing off his gap tooth.                              “Don’t be a— ehhh, worrywart, Mathew.”

        Oh no, now he’s laughing harder thanks to hearing the pain in Matt’s voice. “I just—” He’s fallen now, kneeled on the ground. He’s gotta get ahold of himself, he knows, but he’s just been waiting forever for this. “No one has ever fell for it!” A sigh of relief as his laughter died, but the tears still pearled up in his eyes.
