SINCERELY - You'll Be Dancin Once Again And The Pain Will End

“THANK YOU ALL! ENJOY SUGURU’S PERFORMANCE! HAVE A GOOD NIGHT, GUYS!”
Your voice rang out as you waved to the crowd, forcing energy into your limbs despite the way your chest heaved. Lights burned against your skin, sweat cooling too fast as you took a bow before slipping offstage.
The moment you were out of sight, everything hit. Crew members rushed in, hands gently but quickly removing the equipment strapped to you. Their voices blurred together, fading into background noise as your breathing grew uneven.
Your thoughts wandered. Shoko’s training… it really paid off. The old you would’ve collapsed already—crying, shaking, begging Rei for even a sip of water.
So why now think about this now? Why did your body feel like it was giving out? A hand rested on your shoulder, grounding but not enough. You looked up.
Suguru stood in front of you, half-ready for his own performance, wires and equipment hanging loose as staff worked around him. His usual calm expression was gone, replaced with something sharper, worry.
“Hey… you with me?” he asked, voice lower than usual.
“Yeah, I’m—” You swallowed, pressing your fingers to your head. “I’m fine. Just… a little lightheaded.”
If anything, he stepped closer. “You don’t look fine,” he said quietly, eyes scanning your face. “Sit down for a second.”
“I said I’m okay—” The ground shifted. Your words cut off as your vision blurred, the bright lights smearing into streaks. A sharp ringing filled your ears.
“Name?” Suguru’s voice sharpened. “Hey!? Look at me!?”
You tried. You really did. But everything went black.
Your body collapsed, but Suguru caught you instantly, one arm wrapping tightly around your waist while the other supported your head.
“Shit! hey, hey, stay with me!”
Your name left his lips again, softer this time, almost like a plea. Panic erupted backstage.
“I need a medic!” Suguru shouted, his usual composure completely gone. “Right now!” He pulled you closer instinctively, as if holding you tighter would somehow keep you here.
“What happened?” Satoru pushed through the crowd, his usual laid-back tone gone the second he saw you unconscious in Suguru’s arms.
“She just dropped,” Suguru said quickly, jaw tight. “She said she was dizzy then she just—”
For a split second, fear flickered across his face real, unfiltered.
Satoru’s expression darkened. “Move.”
The medics rushed in with a gurney, taking over with urgency. Suguru hesitated, hands lingering like he didn’t want to let go.
“Careful,” he muttered under his breath as they laid you down, like you could still hear him.
As they wheeled you away, Suguru took a step forward but Satoru stopped him, gripping his shoulder firmly.
Suguru looked at him, conflicted. “I’m not leaving her like this.”
“You’re not,” Satoru replied, already serious again. “You’re trusting me to handle it.”
Before Suguru could argue, Satoru shoved a mic into his hand. “The show’s still going,” he added. “They’re waiting for you.”
The distant roar of the crowd echoed from the stage. Suguru didn’t move. His eyes stayed locked on your disappearing figure.
“…Take care of her,” he said finally, voice quieter than before. Satoru’s expression softened just slightly, a small smirk returning.
“I always do,” he said. “Relax. My princess is in good hands.”
He gave Suguru a light push toward the stage.“Now go on, pretty boy. Don’t keep them waiting.” Suguru let out a breath half frustration, half resignation.
“…Yeah. Yeah, I hear you.” But as he walked toward the stage, his grip tightened around the mic. And for the first time that night his mind wasn’t on the performance. The second he stepped into the lights, the crowd erupted into deafening cheers.
