It’s someone’s last day in the office so they have cake and bagels and they are ordering Chinese. I’ll stick to my chai tea and banana. I had protein too. Plus I worked our this morning. So far I’m at 274 calorie intake. Wish me luck. Could anyone give me some tips on how to stay strong. Especially since Chinese is my favorite
is it really recovery if...
I ask myself this probably twice an hour. And I'm stuck.
Im not skinny by any means. I have rolls and chub and thighs and I don't fit into a size 6 anymore and I have stretch marks on my boobs and butt BUT is it really recovery.
Is it really recovery if I was never underweight. Or if I was never hospitalized. or if I never saw my ribs?
YES
I am a valid human being with problems and triumphs and I am living with a mental illness. It is recovery until I am happy and healthy mentally and physically.
You are valid. You are real. your recovery is as real as your relapse and I am SO SO proud of that.

You may think that you’ll start doing all this stuff to lose weight and once you get to your goal weight you’ll be happy and think you’re beautiful and you’ll stop but you won’t. You will believe that it is not enough and you will make a new goal weight. It never stops. We are not happy. We do not think we are beautiful. We hate ourselves. We bathe in our self-hate every day and we are miserable. If you think you are overweight, go to a doctor. See what he or she has to say. If you really need or want to lose weight, do it in a healthy way. Eat better. Workout. Go for walks. Stop pigging out on junk food and pick up a fruit or vegetable. Stop eating when you aren’t hungry. You can lose weight in a healthy way. This is not healthy. You do not want this. You will start and you won’t be able to stop. You will become obsessed. You will be controlled by numbers. The numbers on the scale, the calories, all the numbers. You will constantly be worrying about gaining more weight or binging. You will constantly be looking in the mirror and picking out every single piece of you that you find disgusting. If you want to lose weight, get off your ass and do some cardio. Eat some healthy food. It is possible to lose weight without starving. Don’t mistake our “pride” for endorsement of this behavior. We all know that it’s unhealthy and none of us would want anyone else to be as miserable as we are.
