I am going to love trying out the Orgain protein shake post-workout and munching on the Skinnygirl nutrition bar pre-workout. I will be trying the Beanitos chips when I need a sinless treat. Sad Sad Post

This weekend, I will be setting my tumblr to password-protected. I am beginning student teaching, and then hopefully starting my career as a high school English teacher. Unfortunately, fitblrs are not always highschoolboy-proof. Progress pics in sports bras probably will not help me gain control of my classroom if they leak to students, so this is something I have to do. I am so thankful for the fitblr community. Thankfully, I was able to reach my ultimate goal before I had to leave. I will still follow all you fitblrs, but I will not be able to post pics and stories of my own for the world to see. Message me if you are interested in getting my password once I create it.

20 Kettle Bell Swings w/ 30lb KB

20 Box Jumps

15 Burpees

25' Sled push and pull w/ 90lbs

20 Crossfit Sit Ups

Finish with a 2 mile run/jog

Finished the circuit in 24:28 and jog in 20:00.

Brutal.

Baked Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal This looked too good to be true so I had to try it myself (:

1/2c Oats 1/4t Vanilla extract 1/2t Cinnamon 2 Packets splenda 1/4c Unsweetened applesauce 1/4c Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk 1/16t Salt

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine raw oats, spices, applesauce & milk. Pour into a small baking pan or ramekin (or if you’re like me and don’t have any of those fancy things, you can grease a muffin tin and fill up 2 of the cups!) Cook for about 15-25 minutes or until firm then devour BOTH of them for a whopping 180 calories!

P.S. I also drizzled peanut butter on top of mine and sprinkled it with brown sugar

Caloric Intake 7/9/12

Breakfast (8:00am): 1 cup greek yogurt, 1/2 cup oatmeal 260 calories

Mid-morning snack (11:00am): Fresh peach and 1/2 cup cottage cheese 200 calories

Lunch (1:15pm): 1 cup mixed veggies (yellow squash, onions, corn, and green beans), 1 cup carrots, 1.5 cups fresh spinach, 2 slabs curry/lime/ginger tofu with mango chutney ~275 calories

Mid-afternoon snack pre-workout (3:45pm): 2 scoops protein powder, 1 cucumber 165 calories

Dinner post-workout: 2 slabs of BBQ tofu, 1 whole-wheat flat bread, 1 banana, 2.5 tbsp PB2 powder, 1 tbps honey 395 calories

Dessert: 2 Squares 70% cocoa dark chocolate: 150 calories

TOAL CALORIC INTAKE: 1445

CALORIC OUTPUT: ~350 calories from workout

NET CALORIC INTAKE: 1095 THIS IS NOT ENOUGH. MY BASAL METABOLIC RATE IS SOMEWHERE AROUND 1300 CALORIES PER DAY. THAT MEANS I NEED TO EAT A SMALL, HEALTHY SNACK BEFORE BED.

This is why it is so so important to keep track of your eating habits. It is very easy to overeat, but when you change your eating habits to eat 4-6 small mostly plant and lean protein-based meals a day, it is also very easy to under eat, which is equally harmful to your body. Don’t wanna lose those new muscles!

Amanda's guide to healthy 4th of July dipping:

So this is going to save my life not only on the 4th of July, but any time I go to an event that is based on food.

When it comes to snacking, I am not just a dipper, but a scooper. I love dips like crazy. It's one thing that I gave up outright when I became healthy. Hell, I even eat my salads without dressing now.

BUT, I found a way to get my dips back, as long as I don't go overboard! And it is so easy.

Buy yourself your favorite brand of plain greek yogurt. I like Kroger brand because it's cheap, and has the fewest calories (110). Then buy yourself a packet of dry Italian dressing mix. Add about half to 2/3 of the packet to the yogurt, stir and let sit for about an hour in the fridge so the flavor permeates the yogurt.

Cut up your favorite veggies to avoid the chips. I like cucumbers, because they crunch like chips and resemble chips when you slice them, so it kind of tricks my brain. But this dip is good with any veggies.

If you went balls to the wall, dipped your heart out, and ate this entire thing of dip, you would only be set back about 160 calories AND you would get some wicked protein!

The only thing you have to be careful of is the sodium in the dressing mix. Drink lots of water!
