30 Day Art Improvement Challenge
I’ve always wanted to do one of these, but the ones I found didn’t interest me, or it was too much. So I decided to make one of my own, that will not only be fun, but also challenging in the areas that I want to improve in (anatomy, scenery, and colour). I hope I can see some sort of improvement by the end of this. If you want to do this too, feel free to do so! Let’s improve togetherr! >:D
Draw something you hate to do
Draw a figure with a reference (don’t forget to link back to it!)
Anatomy Study! Draw a part of the body that you have difficulty drawing, 15 times. Choose 5 of them and do 1 skeletal and 1 muscular versions for each (use refs to make it easier)
Draw your interpretation of a character from a novel
Colour Study! Draw something with a colour palette (http://design-seeds.com/)
Break! Draw whatever you want
One point perspective (be creative!)
Use a character/monster/whatever generator and draw it
Two point perspective (be creative!)
Anatomy Study! Draw 15 figures of different body types and poses. Choose 5 of the figures and draw a skeletal version. (use refs to make it easier)
Draw a group of people doing an activity (ex. cooking, jump rope, sleeping, etc. BE CREATIVE!)
Halfway there! Colour Study! What’s your favourite season/weather? Draw it, using a colour palette.
Draw someone (can be celebrity, family, friend; but not yourself.)
Anatomy Study! Draw 10 different facial expressions
Draw a weird inanimate object w/ shading and highlights (something that is not a simple/regular shape like circle, rectangle, square, etc.)
Draw an action figure with a reference (link back!)
Anatomy Study! Draw 10 expressive people. Use their face and body to show their emotions (ex. In love, depressed, guilty, nostalgic.. etc)
Break! Draw whatever you want
Go outside, take a walk, take a picture of something, and draw it.
Draw an animal/creature you’ve never drawn before x5
Draw something and shade/highlight in black and white.
Fanart time! Draw your favourite character from wherever and use dramatic lighting
Draw something that tells a story/or has a back story to it
Draw something you’ve never drawn before (ex. Car, bicycle, an animal, a building.. etc) and be creative with it!
Draw a semi-detailed picture of your room.
Colour Study! Draw something and shade/highlight with complementary, analogous, triadic, or tetradic colour schemes. AND if drawing digitally, try to use 1 layer, but I’ll allow you to use max. 3 layers, if anything.
Grab a drawing you drew last year, or the year before, and draw it again to see how you’ve improved!
