Hey everyone, you all might have been noticing some posts about breastfeeding this week because it's #breastfeedingweek and I just wanted to highlight an old post I wrote. I'm not trying to brag, or remind you all that I did this. But just give you hope, if you are still dreaming of holding your own precious baby in your arms or adopting and thinking #breastfeeding isn't an option for you but I'm so happy to tell you that you are wrong! I breastfed my adopted daughter for 4 months! Yes I supplemented with formula and at first I wouldn't hear anything about supplementing because I was going to get a "full supply". But once I got my baby girl I realized that as much as it is about the breast milk, it was also about so much more!! The bonding, the closeness, the experience! And even if it failed I wanted that experience because so my moms feel that and I wanted to feel whatever my experience was. So I just wanted to give you some hope today. That if breastfeeding is something that you don't want to miss out on or dream about, it is possible even if you don't get your babes through pregnancy. Read my post about what i did if your looking into how to do it and please don't hesitate if you have any questions. I would love to help. Now I just have to Bragg about my amazing friend who had a baby three days before my daughter was born, that right after my daughter pretty much weaned herself from breastfeeding, this friend offered to donate milk to my daughter. So she still got the benefits of the milk. #awesomefriend #soselfless #donatinggold #donatingbreastmilk
