rebranded is a stretch. HSI has been a main branch of ICE since its founding, a long with ERO (enforcement and removal operations). HSI (historically) asks questions, and ERO detains. Recently HSI has also detained people under ICE authority. ERO still does the bulk of it, usually uninvestigated, but HSI does it too now. In short, HSI and ERO were always ICE, its just that people never learned to look out for them too. Stay safe people.

TW: vent post, Discussion of suicide, self harm and physical abuse

This is rough for me to write about, but I want to let this out. I haven't been really active the past few weeks because I have struggled with so many things simultaneously, and as if that's not enough, my parents added more to that on the weekend.

I got dressed and sat down on Friday after a shower, telling them both that I've taken care of my hair. My mum insisted that I sit down and have her take a look, and when I said it's fine, she shouted at me and forcefully pushed me down to sit. She dragged me by my arm and told me that I look "inhumane" because my hair is slightly messy. I then returned to my room and wiped my eyes on the pillow, crying until I stood up to drink water; I had the thought of hurting myself with some of the supplies in my leftover box (staples, scissors) but I ultimately let go and didn't do anything. I later on recieved transphobic comments regarding my body. It was just a week after I considered taking my life, again without success. I've had my fair amount of eight attempts before, so coming into consideration of a ninth one was only a matter of time. I felt it coming from a distance away, and I prevented myself from everything. I stayed alive.

I honestly just feel unappreciated by my family, not only because they keep abusing me but because they don't care about anything I do. I could be proud of my grades or literature, and they'd just nod without saying a single word. It affected me a lot and my friends can tell: I was really motivated and became burnt out, and my sleep schedule has worsened. I've always wanted my stories to be real life musicals or novels, games or actual literature. I wanted others who are struggling to find comfort in my perspective and experiences. I've always wished to be helpful, to make someone's day better, and I feel like my parents take even THAT away from me. They make it difficult for me to appreciate myself, causing me to feel worthless or like I'm a burden.

That is why I have decided to return to have therapy sessions with my psychiatrist; I want to feel better with myself and take proper care. I want to stop thinking about hurting or killing myself. I want to be myself without having to fit into who these transphobes think I am. I want to appreciate myself. To be Boyde; to be who I am.
