Richeh and Euini butting heads is a great example of two different/opposing types of autism smacking directly into each other and I adoreeee the way it's written.
andrew minyard goes through life the same way i imagine someone with no diamonds on episode would
andrew sees a cute boy:
compliment him!
swing a heavyass exy racquet directly into his sternum and stare at him homosexually
andrew is curious about the new kid:
ask to go pick him up from the airport!
steal your twin brothers identity to meet him and gather intel without him noticing
andrew is suspicious of the new kid:
subtly keep an eye on him for more clues
immediately try to break into his room and snoop through his belongings as soon as he moves in
andrew wants to learn more about the new kid:
ask him questions!
attempt to get him so intoxicated he spills all of his deepest secrets to you
andrew finds out the new kid is also running from the mafia:
tell him you already have one ex-cult flight risk to protect and hand him over to renee
claim he’s too much of a drama queen and decide to take him under your wing anyway
andrew sees a ball getting shot towards the net
do your job and block it
make no attempt to even try stopping it and just hope it doesn’t go in for the sake of your auramaxxing
neil keeps asking andrew questions
answer neil’s questions and strengthen your relationship!
send neil on random roundabout side quests to other foxes and wait for him to report back so you can do it again
andrew wants to tell neil how he feels
admit your true feelings!
deny your feelings because it’s safer
tell him you hate him but that you’d still suck his dick
Mommy is back with the cigarettes
my reanimator au wip in a nutshell
We all know and love how oblivious Neil is and he absolutely is I'm not refuting that, but I'm relistening to TRK for the thousandth time and it struck me anyway. After his talk with Nicky in the library Neil gets to thinking during practice and catches himself thinking and waxing poetic about Andrew and has to divert his attention because it was "the last turn he needed his thoughts to take" which to me reads as an /I'm not allowed to have this, I'm not thinking about it/ kind of thought process which (aside from once again proving that Neil and Jean are the two sides of the same coin) means he at least KNOWS that if he's to closely examine his thoughts and feelings towards Andrew he'll find something there.
It was always really strange to me how after one kiss Neil's immediately like a moth to a flame but if you see it as him being aware there's something there and purposefully looking away then no wonder the dam got absolutely disintegrated when Andrew took dynamite to it.
This even explains why even after learning that Andrew's gay Neil doesn't even think to pursue him, in his head he's not allowed to have it and with his obliviousness to Andrews developing interest in him it would be more or less a wasted effort regardless.
Wow Andrew helping Neil shower and gently washing his hair. The most intimate romantic shit I’ve ever read. Oh wait he’s getting on his knees.. That’s intimate too I suppose
why do so many freaks go right to “there should be exams or tests before you have kids” when the real solution is better social services, robust infant and child development education that is accessible both financially and schedule/distance accommodating, and resources throughout any stage of a child’s life. genuine question like did you think about any social development before going straight to eugenics
Because Tumblr is very English speaking and some ppl like France a little too much I just want to remind you of a few things:
- France abolished the Code Noir 2 months ago. That law project that said hey you can enslave, mutilate, kill, cross breed, etc. black people at will bc they're not people they're property ? Yeah. Abolished 2 months ago. We are in July 2026.
- the last human zoo closed its doors in 1994 in France due to social pressure. Not bc they were running out of business, no. Ppl still visited that place until it closed its doors. No, it was bc (black) French people were fed up. That human zoo was specialized in displaying black (presumed Congolese) people in fake huts in enclosures, for white entertainment.
- now while this might no longer be the case, when I was growing up, I went to a French school (as in. It was an international French School w the French flag n all) and the way we were taught French geography was that France has the biggest and largest access to the sea in the world. And they'd show us a map of France and its colonies around the world. It's all occupied indigenous lands. I don't know if they still teach that. I hope not. But they absolutely did until I graduated high school in 2017. Again, I write this on July 21st 2026, for the record.
Anyways that's all I have for now. Y'all don't hate France enough. Y'all need to hate France more.
*looks at polyamorous triad* so which of you is the soldier and which is the poet and which is the king
kandreil actually and i will always stand by andrew=soldier, neil=poet, kevin=king(queen).
Because listen Andrew protects and "carries a mighty sword" = his knives. Neil's "weapon is his word" = starts arguments with insults but can't really fight for shit and "will slay you with his tongue" = *ahem* 'You know, i get it-'. And Kevin is the "ruler who's brow is lain in thorns".
In some ways I'm like Andrew because I also want to take Kevin in and keep him safe and happy
But also I'm like Neil because I need to eat that guy.
it's such bs that the whole guilt-ridden stoic self-sacrificing martyr thing doesn't work outside of fiction. repressing all your emotions and neglecting your physical wellbeing should make you god's most tragically beautiful morally unassailable little soldier of righteousness but all it does is give you bad skin and gastrointestinal problems
You gotta be really publicly passionate about things if you want your friends to text you. Bc people will forget to text you because they’re human. But if you’re really openly the friend who loves identifying ants your friends will think of you when they see ants. And they’ll text you “what ant is this [blurry photo]”. And then they’ll ask you how you’ve been and we should get coffee sometime. But if they don’t know what you love they’ll never know what you like
*looks at polyamorous triad* so which of you is the soldier and which is the poet and which is the king
this is the perfect reblog post cancelled
I think it's so interesting that so many people who hate Arthur as a character like Gwaine. At their core they are the same, they have the same problems they just cope very differently. And it's totally understandable why they cope the way they do. Like of course Arthur draws back, creates distance and snaps at people once they get to close, that man is terrified. He never had friends before at least that we know of. He was taught that everything he loves will abandon him and that he is never good enough no matter how hard he tries and Gwaine learned the same thing he just overplays it with this 'haha I'm the unserious chaotic guy' who will get into fights and drinks too much but you know thats Gwaine its fine.
And I wonder if people who love Gwaine so much but claim to hate Arthur cannot look beyond this mask of 'I'm the comedic relief'-character and they like him because he's better at blending into social norms. Because I don't think either one is better really, I mean I understand Arthur more because I cope similarly but where Arthur gets cruel and distant and cold, Gwaine becomes unserious, unreliable and starts to avoid difficult things. So yeah. They're both not doing great tbh
Sorry for the ramble I think about this a lot.
It is years later when Arthur dies.
Years later when the world ends.
Years later when Camelot becomes little more than smoke and mourning and shattered promises scattered across blood-soaked ground.
Gwaine remembers fragments.
The smell of rain.
The cries of wounded soldiers.
The unbearable silence that follows a king's final breath.
Mostly he remembers Merlin.
Standing beside Arthur's body as though someone had reached into his chest and ripped out everything that made him human.
As though grief had become flesh and bone and blue eyes.
Gwaine has seen people mourn before.
He has mourned before.
But this is something else entirely.
This is devastation.
This is worship.
This is the heartbreak that only exists when love has spent years growing roots through every corner of a person's soul.
And suddenly all the old jealousies inside Gwaine die.
Not because they stop hurting.
Because they become meaningless.
Because looking at Merlin then is like looking at a ruined cathedral.
You do not envy the god it was built for.
You only mourn the destruction.
After Arthur's death, the kingdom fractures.
People leave.
Knights drift apart.
The world keeps moving because it always does, because tragedy has never once convinced the sun to stop rising.
Merlin leaves too.
Gwaine finds him one morning preparing a horse in the courtyard before dawn.
The castle is asleep.
The sky is still dark.
Everything feels suspended between one life and the next.
Merlin does not look surprised to see him.
Perhaps he knew Gwaine would come.
Perhaps Gwaine has always been too easy for him to read.
"You're leaving," Gwaine says.
Merlin nods.
"Yes."
"Where?"
A faint smile.
"Told you before. Somewhere Arthur can't order me around anymore."
The joke lands badly.
Merlin's gaze drifts toward the horizon.
Toward distances neither of them can see.
And suddenly Gwaine understands.
This is goodbye.
Not for a few months.
Not for a year.
Goodbye.
Something twists painfully inside his chest.
"Stay," he says.
The word escapes before he can stop it.
Merlin looks at him.
And for one terrible moment Gwaine thinks he might.
The silence stretches.
Then Merlin shakes his head.
"I can't."
And there it is.
The answer to every question Gwaine has ever been afraid to ask.
I can't.
Because my heart belongs somewhere else. Because part of me always will. Because some loves survive death.
Gwaine smiles anyway.
Because loving Merlin has always required a certain amount of self-destruction.
"Right," he says softly.
The wind stirs between them.
Merlin looks suddenly exhausted. Older than he should. Sadder than anyone deserves.
And before Gwaine can stop himself he reaches out and cups Merlin's face. Just once. Just this once.
Merlin freezes.
The entire world seems to stop breathing.
Gwaine traces the line of his cheekbone with his thumb.
Memorizing.
Mourning.
Loving.
"Take care of yourself," he whispers.
Merlin's eyes shine.
And then Merlin leans forward.
Their foreheads touch.
A breath.
A heartbeat.
An eternity.
"I love you," Merlin says.
The words strike like lightning.
Everything inside Gwaine stops.
Hope surges upward so violently it almost hurts.
But then Merlin continues.
"I just don't think it'll ever be the way you deserve."
And his voice breaks.
The hope dies.
Like a candle reaching the end of its wick.
Yet somehow the pain is not as terrible as Gwaine expected.
Because it is the truth.
Because Merlin is giving him honesty instead of false promises.
Because there is love here after all.
Just not the kind Gwaine spent years dreaming about.
He laughs softly.
The sound shakes.
"Trust you," he murmurs. "To break my heart while being nice about it."
Merlin's laugh emerges strangled and wet.
Then, unexpectedly, he kisses him.
Not like a man discovering the love of his life.
It is a farewell kiss.
A thank you kiss.
A grief-stricken kiss.
A kiss filled with affection and sorrow and all the impossible tenderness of a heart that belongs elsewhere.
And God help him, Gwaine treasures it
He treasures everything.
The warmth.
The sadness.
The way Merlin's hand trembles against his shoulder.
When they finally part, neither of them speaks.
There is nothing left to say.
Some endings do not need words.
Merlin mounts his horse.
The dawn is beginning to brighten the horizon now, painting the world gold.
A beautiful color for a tragedy.
Gwaine watches him turn away.
Watches him ride toward a future that does not include Camelot.
Does not include Arthur.
Does not include him.
And yet, just before disappearing into the growing light, Merlin glances back.
Their eyes meet across the distance.
For one impossible second, Gwaine sees every version of them that never existed.
The life they might have had.
The years they might have shared.
The happiness that remained forever just beyond reach.
Then Merlin smiles.
Years later, Gwaine will still think about him.
The wound eventually becomes a scar, and scars are easier to carry than open wounds.
He falls in love again.
The world continues.
But sometimes, in the quiet moments between dusk and darkness, he remembers a boy with impossible blue eyes and too much kindness hidden beneath too much stubbornness.
He remembers a kiss that meant goodbye.
He remembers loving someone he could never truly have.
And strangely, the memory no longer feels like grief.
It feels like gratitude.
Because not everyone gets to love something extraordinary.
Not everyone gets to know a person capable of changing the shape of their soul.
The sadness never leaves entirely.
Neither does the love.
They simply learn to exist together.
Like sunlight through stained glass.
Like laughter at a funeral.
Like a bittersweet ending.
Like Merlin.
Like Merlin, riding forever toward the horizon, carrying one great love in his heart and another tucked carefully beside it, not forgotten, never forgotten, while Gwaine remains behind beneath an ordinary sky, smiling through the ache, grateful for the hurt because it means it happened at all, because for a little while, however briefly, however incompletely, he had been loved by magic itself.
