A coming of age story about Black kids who finally have power to fight back against systems designed against them.
new manhunt au idea: Dream married each of them individually at some point without the others knowing (as like a fraud kinda thing maybe idk) but now they all found out he's currently married to 6 people and all of them team up to kill him over it 😭
This gets funnier the more hunters show up. like first George just thought Dream cheated on him with Sapnap. And then ok weird turns out he might've cheated with Bad, too, which is awkward for everyone, but they've already been hunting him down for a while when Ant shows up so like ??? is this one ??? recent??? The answer to that one when it comes to Sam and Puffy is that even while being hunted down by MULTIPLE PEOPLE Dream STILL managed to get married. TWICE.
#it has to be even funnier when Puffy shows up#because the others didn’t realize that women were an option for Dream
hunters 1-5 after meeting Puffy:
Digital circus' biggest problem is that it was written to be a niche show aimed at weird analytical queers with actual media literacy and it accidentally blew tf up and hit the mainstream and a bunch of people who have never had a second thought about anything got into it
i get that americans love their cultural imperialism, but it really does piss me off that june is “international” pride month just because something happened in the united states.
in aotearoa, june isn’t our pride, it’s theirs. marsha p johnson and sylvia rivera are their historical figures, not ours. the phrase that “you owe your rights to Black trans women” is true there, but here we owe our rights to (mostly) Māori historical figures. i have the freedoms i do because of the legacy of an entirely different set of people operating in an entirely different context at entirely different times.
But because of american cultural imperialism, most queer people in Aotearoa don’t even know our own queer history. Carmen Rupe, Ngahuia Te Awekotuku, the Dorian Society, Gillian Laundon, Georgina Beyer, and the Wolfenden Association are some of our queer history. We should know their names! we should know what they did for us! but because of the power of the american imperial machine, we don’t.
our national pride month should be july, the month that the Homosexual Law Reform Act passed in 1986. our two largest cities hold their pride festivals in february and march, respectively. american queer history has very little (or nothing, depending on who you ask) to do with our queer history. anecdotally, from my own queries, queer youth in aotearoa know more about american queer history than our own.
anyway, happy pride, americans. i’m truly sorry that most of you don’t see the negative impact your nation’s culture has on the rest of the world. and to the rest of the world reading this, try searching for your own country and culture’s queer history, don’t accept the american narratives as your own. we deserve our own histories divorced from the cultural hegemony of the USA.

Dream/Technoblade | Rivals duo
PearlescentMoon/Geminitay | Gempearl
Why Rivals Duo is great:
I love the Dream/Techno ship because of the intense dynamic between their characters. Dream's mysterious persona and Techno's rebellious nature create such a compelling contrast. Their interactions often highlight themes of loyalty and conflict, which adds depth to their relationship. Plus, there are so many great moments in the content that showcase their chemistry, making the ship feel really alive within the fandom.
Look at them. They are both terrors in their own right, widely loved and hated both as characters and as CCs. Their mere presence tips the scales in any story or event, promising that whatever comes next will be exciting and perhaps even legendary. And despite all of the mythos around them--all of the pedestals and paranoia--they grow close. People once pitted against each other, who found in each other a kinship that few people could ever provide them, and so became close in defiance of the people and forces who opposed them. They can be terrifying, but they also have these tender moments of affection, where they're just completely on the same wavelength. They have running jokes! They get distracted and wander off to look at things! They can't read maps! They adore their pets!
Why Gempearl is great:
To misquote tumblr user periwinklepaint, "they both think theyve "cursed" the other and blame themselves whenever something goes wrong in their relationship, but they have different ways of coping with it. Both are equally harmful to themselves and the people around them." Aka. TOXIC YURIIIIIIIIII
THIS RIGHT HERE
You guys are dangerously close to realizing specifically what kinds of people they keep from voting and why.
I want to drill this into everybody’s head:
The United States of America has the highest prison population in the world
Black Americans and Latin people make up the majority of this population (many of whom are non-violent offenders)
Federal Prisons in America require that their state keeps their prisons at a maximum occupancy at all times.
The 13th amendment did not entirely abolish slavery…just one form of it. It remains legal through industrial prison system
Oh and we have privatized prisons which allow companies to actually make money off of keeping people incarcerated
Here’s what’s really perverse: prisoners, who cannot vote, still get counted in the U.S. Census. The more prisoners a county has, the more representation it gets, even though the prisoners cannot vote. See how that works? The more black and brown people they lock up, the more government resources and political representation they get. Even though those prisoners have no say and cannot vote.
If county-A has a population of 50 voters but no prisons, and county-B has a population of 50 voters and 50 prisoners, the county with the prisoners gets more government funding and more political represention. This is sometimes called “prison gerrymandering” and it is used in redistrictring.
Not so fun Fact: Southern states that reliably vote for Republicans also have the highest prison population in the United States. (source). So mass incarceration is a double whammy. It’s both a form of voter suppression and a tool to strengthen white people’s political power.

Trans visibility has gotten scarier for years now, and the trans people celebrating today are extraordinary. I love every single one of my trans siblings, including the ones who don't want to be visible today or can't be. Stay safe, and don't let them take your pride away from you.
post-dr2 is always wonderful as a rule, but i do wish we played around with the fact they were batshit insane for years a little more. like, a lot happened. their entire families died. there were some messy relationship dynamics. writers tend to gloss over the recovery phases on the island and that's honestly fine, but i wish there would at least be some... remnants of their despair days still around that they don't even think about just cuz it was so normalized to them.
like maybe akane's appetite is back, but it's different. she's pickier, more sensitive, maybe there are some foods she used to love that turn her stomach now. nekomaru is way bossier and no one bats an eye about it. fuyuhiko and peko have an entire nonverbal language that no one else understands (except imposter for some reason). soda builds normal, helpful things now, but they're styled black and red and sinister still out of thoughtless habit. both sonia and gundam and all their animals act like royalty. everyone still behaves deferentially to hajime even though they're bros now and no one even notices that they do this, not even hajime. nagito especially greets hajime by bowing deep and kissing his hand like he's a fucking princess. makato nearly spits when he sees this for the first time.
the makato hope squad try to bring it up sometimes to be like "hey, maybe work on this as a group," but they genuinely have no idea wtf he's talking about. soda's chewing on some toast that just popped out of a flashing red bazooka-looking thing, gundam's hamsters are staring imposingly down at them in tiny flowing robes and making ''off with their head'' hand motions, and nagito is sitting in hajime's lap with a dog collar during meetings and absolutely none of this is registering as fucked up to any of them.
Getting plowed is for the country folk. Here in the city we call it being taken to pound town. And if it's a place with decent public transit, getting railed.
