ABO Dynamics (Tentative Punnett Square for Trait Inheritance)
I am no geneticist, but I made this chart with the assumption that there’s some sort of underlying dominant/codominant/recessive genetic crossing going on that would allow for offspring to present as mixes, as well as the classic A/B/O dynamic (coded by eye colors: Alpha red, Beta gold, and my headcanon Omega violet).
As pointed out in this post, I love the idea of there being several grades of A/B/O, meaning that not all Alphas are doms/tops/semes/macho/etc, not all Omegas are subs/bottoms/ukes/femme/etc, and not all Betas are Basic B!tches. Every once in a while you might get a basic Alpha, a feisty Omega, or an outstanding Beta.
If all three dynamics are either homozygous dominant (AA, BB. OO), heterozygous dominant (Aa, Bb, Oo), or homozygous recessive (aa, bb, oo), then the dynamics are actually either Incomplete Dominant or Codominant genes, which would make any and all offspring any of them have a new type altogether that is neither A/B/O at all. (This might explain the reason there are verses with Gammas and Deltas and such.) In other words, if White and Red are both homozygous incomplete dominant/codominant, all of its offspring will be Pink (1x1 = 1 but 1+2 = 3).
In A/B/O terms, if they’re all incomplete/codominant, you’d get a whole new batch of dynamics: AB, AO, BA, BO, OA, and OB.
The AA, BA, and oA would have the most Alpha-like traits, and have a greater chance of impregnating Betas and especially Omegas (if we assume Omegas are recessive) with Alpha offspring. Only an Alpha phenotype with the oA genotype would be capable of impregnating another dynamic with Omega offspring.
The AB, BB, and oB would be the Betas, and if they’re not perfectly compatible with Alphas (too much dominance cancelling each other out, like a horse and a donkey having sterile mules???) they’d have the best chances breeding amongst each other, putting more and more Betas in the population as its less common for them to have Alpha or Omega offspring.
The Ao, Bo, and oo would be the Omegas, with homozygous recessive oo Omegas being the most rare, and possibly best suited to having Alpha and Beta children with Alphas and Betas.
I personally love the idea of male omegas either having low sperm count or even small vestigial penises (psuedo-penises, overgrown clitoris, etc), because I don’t really see how Mpreg could work with the testosterone/testicles in the way of sufficient hormone production to have a baby. In the same vein, I think “homosexual” Omega-Omega pairings would be sterile or nearly so, because of the lower chance of Omegas impregnating anyone, but perhaps between each other they’d have a better chance together than trying to impregnate, say, a Beta? Even an BO/Bo Beta?

My favorite part…is the subdivision of ABO Dynamics, where Alphas, Betas, and Omegas can still carry recessive or secondary Alpha, Beta, or Omega traits. It makes so much sense, as not all Alphas, Betas, or Omegas are alike…as some are way more dominant or submissive or scheming/intelligent than others.
So this was just my midnight musings on how the trait dispersion in ABO dynamics could be visualized. I’m no geneticist though.
