Mucking about making moon jars in porcelain and white stoneware. I've had little to no success attaching the halves together so far. This week I'm going to be working on perfecting it. Sneek peek at the soap dish shoot @kimberleybrandphotos did for me the other day! Loving these soap dishes! That lovely nifty nail brush is by @irishantverk which we picked up in Stockholm last year. They make lovely products and, unbelievably, they're made by visually impaired craftsmen from different cultures. These brushes are made according to an old Swedish tradition and they're frigging amazing. Soap is by the equally wonderful Claire Ross, i bought loads of her soap at a Christmas fair i did a few months back in Luss. Soooooo i know this probably doesn't look like much but it's the first step in me getting my act together and cleaning out my clay space. The place is a tip and it's becoming harder and harder to work in. Ive got more of these shelves going up which should help me out storage wise and make me more productive. Made a dinner set for me and @kimberleybrandphotos. We've a serious lack of plates and bowls in the house so once I was finished trimming and finishing off the soap dishes i made a start on a dinner set for us. I must say my Brent wheel makes light work of plate making, so much easier than on my kick wheel! Weather was sooo good today! Managed to recycle upwards of 50kg of clay, finish off 30 butter dishes and get a start on some new soap dishes (in the picture) there's a few more things i need to do before they're ready for the kiln. First I'll trim a foot ring on them, then I'll squeeze the sides to make it an oval shape, then I'll pop some holes in the bottom and cut a notch out the footring for the soapy bubbles to escape. Plus it's snowing and CRAZY cold outside and don't much fancy wrecking my hands and putting them out of order for the next few days. So today I'll be inside working on my website!
