Hate To See You Go My all time favorite cleanser. If you have sensitive skin or just want your skin to feel love switch to Aveeno. It's gentle, moisturizing, and magically. One thing I can say this product did for me was keep me glowing. After just one week I got compliments on my glow. I definitely looked more even out and my skin felt super soft and not dried out. I would recommend using a scrub or the Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleansing Pads along with it for the ultimate glow.

My Week with Clinique
Last week I was fortunate enough to FINALLY get on spring break. I left school with minimal skin care products (for travel purposes) but was lucky enough to find this gem amongst my many make-up bags at home. I feel like I say this every post, but all hail the holy grail to dry combination skin! Clinique’s Liquid Facial Soap in Mild is a gel-like liquid that is super easy to apply, non-smelling, and nondrying; great for sensitive skin. Once I rinsed it off, I actually felt clean and cleansed.
Just after two uses I noticed a difference in my skin. Some of my small pimples had vanished, my skin looked brighter and felt softer. Because of the cold of winter I developed some dryness under my eyes and on my nose while the rest of skin remained somewhat normal (not oily). I recommend this to anyone has dry-to-normal skin who really wants to feel fresh and clean (especially after long hours of wearing heavy duty make-up). The 5 oz tube is $14 on the Clinique website while the pump version is $17. Definitely worth every penny, nickel, and dime.

Your skin care routine - make sure cleanse during the morning and at night and exfoliate at least twice a week.
My everyday body moisturizer is Aveeno's Daily Moisturizing Lotion. It's a great non-greasy lotion that keeps my skin super soft and supple, but not so much during the winter season. While I'm at school, I'll mix my lotion with coconut oil. This provides better protection from the drying elements of winter. However, since I'm home I have more time for a more luxurious approach. Cocoa and Shea butter are known for their amazing moisturizing and conditioning abilities so they are ideal ingredients one would want in a winter skin moisturizer.
When I'm short on time, after a shower or after I apply lotion, I'll use Johnson's Shea & Cocoa Butter Baby Oil Gel. It's much thicker than regular baby oil but I feel like I have more control of how much I use. Not only am I well-moisturized, but my skin is left glowing and nothing is wrong with a little glow.
When I have time or somewhere special to be, I'll first apply the baby oil gel all over my body after a shower while my skin is still damp to lock in moisture. I'll then use The Body Shop's Cocoa Butter Body Butter for extra lock-in. Butters are much thicker and heavier than lotions and provide a greater barrier from the outside environment. When I do this combo, my skin stays moisturized all day and night.
How do you combat winter dry skin ?
Winter Skin Care Routine
This cold, dry winter air and dry, hot heater heat has left my skin dry in my T-zone. After some trial and error, I have a master routine that keeps my skin glowy and moisturized. It may seem a little excessive, but my skin stays moisturized with a natural glow everyday. Below is a list of every product I’m using right now (if you have no patience to read how I use them). Expect a review for each. I already have some post on a few of the items so feel free to check those out.
In the morning I use Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Cleanser before showering, but if my skin feels dry I’ll use Aveeno’s Positively Radiant Cleanser after showering since it’s on the creamier side and to pack in moisture. Cetaphil is more gel-like. Two or three times a week I’ll use St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub. On days I don’t do a scrub, two or three times a week I’ll use Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Mud Mask. This instantly brings a glow to my face after one use. After cleansing, I’ll spray @glossierirl Soothing Face Mist all over my face. If I’m going to put make-up on, have a few new breakouts, or forgot to wash my face the night before I’ll apply Clean & Clear’s Dual Action Moisturizer. But usually I’ll mix my @glossierirl Priming Moisturizer with either coconut oil or organ oil and apply it to my face in an upward motion and on my neck.
At night to remove my make-up, I’m currently using Yes to Coconut Cleansing Wipes. Afterwards I’ll wash my face first with Yes to Tomatoes Activated Charcoal Bar Soap and then their Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser. If I don’t wear make-up that night I’ll just use the bar soap. When my skin feels dull, I’ll whip together a bentonite clay mask with either water or apply cider vinegar (or a combo of both). Once done, I’ll apply either coconut oil or organ oil.

Yes to Tomatoes has done it again! Since their bar soap, I have been a fan of charcoal. It is one ingredient that has really kept my skin in line this summer. Since I worked at a camp, my skin has dealt with intense sun exposure, sweat, sunscreen, and pool water. Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser has done wonders in keeping my face in check. It doesn't dry out my skin at all. It has jojoba beads (instead of microbeads) that provide a great light exfoliation and also aid in moisturizing. It does not have the slightly weird smell like the bar soap does. The product itself has a great texture, feels like butter on my skin. I use it once day, sometimes twice.
Along with this cleanser, I’ve been using the Detoxifying Mud Mask. This product is also very creamy. When first applying it, it seems like you need to apply more, but less is more. After 10 minutes, my skin was left feeling clean and soft. Nothing is better than not having your skin dry out. I try to use this at least twice a week.
After 6 weeks of sun and sweat I’m proud to say I have no pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, etc thanks to charcoal. Both products have salicylic acid which helps in preventing future breakouts. If you haven't purchased these products or any products with charcoal, ask yourself, “Do I want to glo up?”

Afternoon: Yes to Tomatoes Activated Charcoal Bar Soap Every other day - St. Ives Green Tea Scrub or St. Ives Apricot Scrub Weekends after work if I’m going out: Cetaphil wiped off with a damp wash cloth
Night: Cetaphil -Cetaphil to my face and do not rinse off. I only wipe it off with some toilet paper.
Don’t Sleep on Cetaphil
2 Sundays ago I got my hair done in twists. Because of the tension, my head, hair and face were sensitive to touch so I figured washing my face would cause great agony. Instead of grabbing a make-up as a quick, simple clean up, I decided to use Cetaphil. I applied it all over my face and instead of rinsing it off, I wiped it off with some toilet paper. I did this for a 2 weeks straight, twice a day, and quickly my skin was saved/slayed.
Within 7 days my abundance of break outs disappeared and stayed gone while my skin was super soft. To think I was about to give up on this product. Since starting my outdoor camp job where my face is constantly attacked by heat, sun exposure, sweat, dirty 5-year-old hands, and layers of sunblock, it is still clear and soft because of the cetaphil routine. Do NOT sleep on Cetaphil. Believe the hype and find out the best way to use it.
