31.12.25 β’ the last studying session of the year in a refreshed space. let 2026 be merciful upon us.
rainy evenings curled up with a good book, late nights and early mornings, a coffee long gone cold. dim lights, scattered notes, oversized hoodies. a dopamine hit each time you understand a difficult concept. chewed-on pen caps. doing it all for you.

only one exam left and iβm up to my ears in analytic philosophy. itβs definitely one of the most difficult philosophy modules iβve taken, but that makes coming to understand it all the more rewarding! wishing everyone busy with exams the best!

Welcome to me catching up on a project Iβve been way behind on. Had to get some (lots) progress in now, bc istg if Iβd spend Midsummer stressing over this.Β
The plan was to pull an all-nighter but that kinda failed, but anyways. hereβs how that went. (readmore bc I kinda got carried away with it lol oops)

one of the most boring lessons Iβve learned is that when a task feels overwhelming, you just have to start doing it. Even if youβre not sure how to do 90% of it, look for one small component that seems close and start there. Sometimes itβs reading one article on the topic, or searching one related term, or literally just googling how to do the task. Do anything other than thinking about it. The process of working on a thing inherently makes it less scary.
one of the biggest things I can advocate for (in academia, but also just in life) is to build credibility with yourself. Itβs easy to fall into the habit of thinking of yourself as someone who does things last minute or who struggles to start tasks. people will tell you that you just need to build different habits, but I know for me at least the idea of βhabitβ is sort of abstract and dehumanizing. Credibility is more like βIβve done this before, so I know I can do it, and more importantly I trust myself to do itβ. you set an assignment goal for the day and you meet it, and then you feel stronger setting one the next day. You establish a relationship with yourself thatβs built on confidence and trust. That in turn starts to erode the barrier of insecurity and perfectionism and makes it easier to start and finish tasks. reframing the narrative as a process of building credibility makes it easier to celebrate each step and recognize how strong your relationship with yourself can become

RECLAIMING DISCIPLINE CAN LOOK LIKE:
β’ keeping small + manageable promises to yourself daily
β’ healing your attention span (ex: reading books, watching movies without scrolling, letting yourself be bored)
β’ moving from "I'll try" to "I will"
β’ reframing pain + difficulty as often where the growth happens
β’ showing up as the person you want to be
β’ making mindful & nourishing choices VS choices that result in instant gratification
