I hate cigarettes so much I hate that smoking is becoming cool again I hate that we're becoming contrarian hipsters about this disgusting habit that has literally killed so many people and destroyed so many lives I'm so serious we need to become absolute killjoys about this again it's time to go 90s scolds on cigarettes until the scourge is wiped out entirely.

Genuinely I just don't think people younger than 35 know how good they have it. I distinctly remember the year in my childhood that it became illegal to smoke in restaurants, I remember what it was like when people used to smoke indoors everywhere, you all think it's cool because it's this illicit fun thing people are doing drunk outside bars now, you don't remember what it was like when fucking everything reeked all the time and you couldn't get away from it and how life changing it was when you could suddenly go out to eat and everything didn't taste like ash and all your clothes and hair didn't stink for days when you got home.

i've been thinking about and missing octopath like a madman since the anniversary passed

oh shoot it was octopath anniversary... um i was going to do something.. have some post-canon doodles as consolation

they really want me to believe that Therion survived being thrown off a cliff with just a semi-canonical facial scar, huh? i don't think so.

Therion's self destructive habits were forcing him to push through the pain, as long as he kept going he could block it out (the second he would sit or lay down to sleep it would hurt like a bitch but it's ok, it's not like he was sleeping amazingly before either), but the second the journey ended and they had time to relax his body fell apart. When the group separated, he was basically dragged back to Clearbrook by Alfyn for medical care and was bed-bound for a while, and still is on bad days. He fought every step of treatment, hating his now limited mobility and eventually Alfyn had to let Zeph take over completely for conflict of interest/he was straining himself trying to be both a romantic partner and doctor to Therion and it was causing issues between them. Zeph is a calming presence as a doctor that Therion reluctantly appreciates.

When he fell he broke, like, all his bones and only got rudimentary medical care. His whole left side is kind of fucked, but his leg is the worst. Alfyn+ Zeph cobbled together the Octopath vaguely Medieval equivalent of a brace. Tressa gave him his cane. Its made of very fancy expensive wood. Therion could not care less about that (he does, he's sentimental and conflicted over it) Once he learns to manage his pain/learns his limits him and Alfyn go back to traveling, with him often acting as a reluctant but surprisingly good medical assistant. Do not make him actually interact with the patients though. He will tell particularly annoying ones that yeah, amputating is all we can do for your cold.

Likewise guess what? trying to read medical texts and mix delicate concoctions by firelight fucks your eyes up. Alfyn had to get glasses, mostly because Therion pointed out how hypocritical it was for Alfyn to preach about taking care of yourself and accepting aid while not doing it himself. he has them now, if he ever remember to use them is another issue... and when he does can he even find them?

Tressa grew exactly tall enough to pass Therion and earn herself the third shortest member award, with Therion and Ophillia behind her. Some would say she managed to do this out of spite and nothing else
