Reblog if youâve ever felt impostor syndrome with your gender and/or sexuality
I know it took me a while after realizing I was gay to not have some weekly panic of âWhat if Iâm not a Real Lesbianâą???â Sometimes Iâd think no one would believe me if I came out to them, or even that I wasnât âallowedâ to be gay.Â
I want LGBT folks to know that itâs 100% normal to struggle with those feelings. You can talk to other LGBT folks about those feelings and still have acceptance. Â And also I want you to know that the impostor syndrome doesnât last forever; eventually you will feel comfortable with yourself.Â
men are so awful. Men are so awful. Y'all need to like âŠ.. stop engaging with men âŠ. stop talking to them ⊠stop dating them. Iâm serious. Itâs painful to watch why do y'all love being lied to and cheated.
I feel like an adult brain in 2017 processes more information in one morning than an adult brain in 1817 did in one month.
yeah thats why we all have anxiety now
me: i literally couldnt care less about what people think about me
also me:Â
âŠand this is my bedroom aka my Isolation Stationâą
when people ask how long youâve been online
Just say that y'all hate black women and go
Protecting Black women is a priority
Gabby got so much hate it affected her performance at the games and she was in tears man. all because racist lowlifes, who cant kill it like she does, got mad at her over a fucking national anthem. i aint seen michael phelps put his hand over his heart but you wanna bully a young black woman whoâs representing your country, wearing your colours, winning you medals. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/aug/15/gabby-douglas-hounding-american-champion-olympics
I donât think healthy people every really get chronic illness.
I have a friend I know from when we were both 6. She is the only person living nearby and so she saw me go from walking through limping to wheelchair on a daily basis. I keep her updated on my health even tho we rarely hang out anymore. She was gonna come over yesterday and I had to cancel. She asked if I canât hang out later that day. When I said i wonât feel better later, that if I feel that bad in the morning later will only get worse she got annoyed and âjokedâ that Iâm just finding excuses. And I was surprised, she knows all about me being disabled after all? So, a bit taken aback, I told her itâs a normal thing for me.
âBut you got the diagnosis now, arenât you better?? I thought youâll get better nowâ
She was honestly surprised and it made me realize a thing. They donât get it. They donât get that getting diagnosed only equals benefits like welfare or parking spot for us, and sometimes better pain meds but that is just like pushing luck. That itâs a forever thing. That that one day we felt good a week ago was just a bright spot and doesnât mean we wonât need our aids anymore, cause chronic illness is not linear and will make a great comeback in next four hours, and the next good day is planned on when weâre 70. Cause when abled people are sick, they get better. And our illness is just an excuse for them. And when we say we will never get better they think weâre being dramatic and pessimistic. And I donât think theyâll ever get it, cause to get it you need to live it. And I want my friends to stay healthy and not go through hell.
This is definitely okay to reblog and abled people are encouraged to reblog cause maybe itâll help others understand
Hello itâs me Lexa and this post is relevant again as I just had the Legit Same Talk with someone and I exhausted my number of fucks to give
I reject the idea that thereâs any requirement to be civil to someone whose views dehumanize you.
AMEN
Me: I am finally actually building relationships! This is going great I-
My brain, banging pots and pans together: SELF ISOLATE!! EVERYONE ONLY TALKS TO YOU OUT OF PITY ANYWAY!!! THEY CANâT ABANDON YOU IF YOU LEAVE FIRST!!!! Â S E L F Â I S O L A T E

She had the green light. He ran the red.Â
Everyone knows this, but media still tries to shift the blame to a black woman
Iâm confused. Everything I see says the police faulted her for the accident. Now, we do know the police lie.
UPDATE: When this story broke, all the news I saw said Venus was âat faultâ for the accident, citing this finding based on police reports. Now, TODAY, July 7, it is officially announced she WAS NOT at fault, and they have video to prove it. So they made a fault determination far too soon, without the facts, and had her ostracized. Her innocence in this wonât spread the same, and there will be so many people who think she is responsible for a death. This is so fucked up.

Called it right on the police lying.
apparently Lady Gaga is only 5'1 and somehow I feel lied to
she literally built a brand on wearing 10 inch heels how the hell did yall not deduce this
This was essentially my life from K - 12
people do this to whites as well
âYouâre white but youâre not white-white. Like, youâll get angry because someone has an accent when speaking English but you donât fuck your cousins.â
I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT A MURDER
Ok but someone tell me why Harry didnât grow up to be the best Defense Against Dark Arts professor Hogwarts has ever known
RIGHT??? what is up with this he becomes an auror crap?? Harry would have loved being a teacher and watching his students improve throughout the years. Revamping the curriculum because if he could teach kids as a child himself how to cast a patronus, perhaps everything they think of as only NEWTs levels and beyond really just werenât taught well before.Â
Making him become an auror just makes him continue the fight he was forced into as a child and didnât enjoy, Harry enjoyed teaching the DA. Why wouldnât he chase after doing something he loves with his life????? And then heâd be able to train the next generation to make sure that they can protect the world, too.Â

YES. I can just picture Professors Potter and Longbottom joking about students and the other teachers during meals, playing mini pranks on Headmistress McGonagall, whoâd purse her lips and remind them that they were adults, then look away before they could catch the twinkle in her eye. All the students would either have a massive crush on them or admire them or both. Harry is the only teacher capable of taming Teddy (who became known as the prank king, comparable to the Weasleyâs twins) and eventually James, Al, and Lily. He develops connections with each of his students and teaches them according to the way heâs noticed they learn best and his classroom becomes a usual hangout for students, as heâs always got food and a âlame dad jokeâ that everyone secretly loves.
I could go on, but I have to stop myself before I get too into this.
Okay, this now officially drives me nuts because this would have made SO MUCH SENSE. And not only because of Harryâs temperament. Yes, he would have LOVED teaching DADA, but do you know who else wanted to teach DADA? Tom Riddle. Voldemort cursed the position so no one could stay for over a year, and Rowling said that the curse broke upon his death. It would have brought the Prophecyâs plot line to full circle, because it shouldnât have been anyone other than Harry who became the first un-cursed DADA professor. It would have been just another part Harry vanquished.
And how important would it be to the students as well, and to him being able to progress with a comfortable, normal life? Because every witch/ wizard in the UK  goes through Hogwarts. The first year after the war, he starts, and the students all come home at Christmas or in the summer and their parents are all âWOW youâve been taught by HARRY POTTER what was he like?â And all these students who are totally over it already like âI donât know, just⊠heâs just Professor Potter. Heâs just Harry. He makes shit jokes and hands out chocolate in lessons. Heâs just a really great guy.â And over the years it stops being people yelling âThe Chosen Oneâ or âThe Boy Who Livedâ in the streets. He goes in to Diagon Alley with his family and everyoneâs like âOh my god, Sir! Hi! Look, itâs Professor Potter!â And no-one wants to know how it felt to die or what vanquishing Voldemort was like- they want to tell him how their doing, and chat with him about how they want to go into the Aurors or Dragon taming, or what theyâre doing now. They want one of their favourite teachers to meet their kids, reminisce about old lessons.
But of course, everyone still knows itâs Harry Potter. And it becomes like a thing among the students, whenever anyone feels low on confidence or like theyâll never achieve things in life, and someoneâll cut in like âOf course you can. Harry defeated the greatest Dark Wizard in memory, and heâs a massive dork whoâs a little bit frightened of his wife and kids, still trips over the trick step, didnât get the date he wanted to the Yule Ball and spills pumpkin juice all over his robes regularly. Heâs human just like you, and if he could do that, you can sure as hell make the DMLE if thatâs what you want.â
Like Harry and Neville being constant reminders to all their students that heroes are just people- just real, normal, faulty people. (And then can we also have Ginny Weasley, taking some time off from playing professional Quidditch so she comes to do a few years as the flying coach. And her first year Harry goes down to the pitch with a few of the 7th years he has under his wing, and Ginny being, as always, vaguely terrifying but in an incredibly attractive way. And all these 7th years just gaping at her like âWoah. You are married to her?!â And Harry just massively smug like âYeah, I know right?â)
So Iâm totally gonna make everyone sad now. Each heâll teach some students during the first year, specially the third-year class he would remember Remus and how he was a good teacher. Like Remus would be his role model
But have you considered Professor Potter visiting Professor Hagrid each and every day for tea? (And bringing a group of good-hearted students with him?)
Or Professor Potter talking to Professor Longbottom and students staring at them starstruck.Â
And Voldemort had wanted to become the DADA teacher and so by Harry getting the post insteead itâs like he defeated Voldemort all over again in a different way.
Professor Potter with his glasses askew, the same shape as always because he doesnât care enough to get non-round ones until Ginny just switches them in his sleep. A second year bringing this to his attention, three weeks later.
Professor Potter going up to the Headmistressâs office to chat with Phineas, Snape, and Dumbledore.
Professor Potter meeting Aberforth Dumbledore for meals every so often as a way to say thank you for his help that dreadful year, bringing a better reputation to the Hogâs Head inadvertantly, and learning more about Headmaster Dumbledore.
Professor Potter declining to be Headmaster, instead nominating Professor Longbottom.
Professor Potter, walking down the hall past Moaning Myrtleâs bathroom, still glancing out of the corner of his eye for the basilisk, but heâs not aggravating his PTSD by hunting the real thing out in the field as an Auror.
Professor Potter taking tea in the Hogwarts kitches with Kreacher and Winky, and sharing what he learns of elf-lore and customs with Hermione before she moves out of the DRCMC.
Professor Potter.
Gender roles in a nutshell: the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang entrances in The Goblet of Fire.
also, to my knowledge neither of those schools were sex-segregated in the books
That bothered me more than the Dumbledore yelling, actually.
Nicolas Flamel was an alum of Beauxbatons.
The first headteacher of Durmstrang was a witch.
In the books, it even says that there were boys and girls from each school. Thanks Hollywood for making Durmstrang buff and all athletic men and Beauxbatons all feminine and dainty.
Just imagine what it would have meant for every kid watching, seeing girls walking beside the guys in Durmstrang being âmanlyâ and boys walking with Beuxbaton being flirty and feminine.
It would have shown that girls and boys can be however they want.
It also suggested that the only way a female could have be selected to participate was if she was not up against any male competition. In the books Fleur is chosen as the best candidate for her school from a selection of female AND male students. And she was the best PERSON. Not the best GIRL.
