The best/worst part of Eruri is au’s where Erwin doesn’t have to be a war-hardened soldier and he’s just a normal guy like a nerdy history teacher who gets passionate about craft beer selections. Because like, we all see that potential in him that in another life he would have been a giant golden retriever but the world made him become a machine and oh my god I’m making myself sad please protect Erwin Smith at all costs.
Do not picture your OTP having a kid and losing said kid in a ball pit.

Smith to testing bay 4C.
The communication device on his wrist pinged and the familiar voice of the facility's android secretary rang out at him. Erwin didn't even bother to voice a response; he quickly poked at a button that signified that he had received the order and understood. Documents on the prototype he would be in charge of testing today were sent to his communicator within seconds of receiving the new assignment. The holographic screen opened at the blond's command and he stopped in his tracks to scroll through the notes.
Another companion-type model.
An inaudible complaint rang through the scientists' brain. Why were they still trying to perfect this type of android? In the past two months, Erwin had tested three other failed robots. The first time, the robot couldn't learn further than a second grade level. The second prototype short-circuited and rebooted about six hours into the test; and the third was promising, but had a faulty memory chip. The development team were cranking these bots out far too quickly.
Erwin stepped onto the moving floor panel that would lead him to the room he was instructed to work in. On either side of the hallway, other testers interacted with their charges. Some models were to be factory workers, janitors, or even high-processing problem-solvers to be used in laboratories. The moving floor stopped him gently in front of a door toward the end of the hallway.

At the prompt, Erwin offered his wrist to the small panel to the right of the door. The metal door slid open and the blond stepped inside. With one last check to the notes on the computer at his wrist, Erwin shut down the communicator and looked upon the model he'd be testing. The notes claimed that this model was hypersensitive to learning and other inputs, but the disappointments he'd suffered recently made Erwin wary.
Thankfully, the android had been powered on. His eyes lingered on where he knew some of the robot's joints were -- the neck and shoulders in particular. With a step closer, Erwin was leaned in to get a good look. This one was practically seamless. Impressive.
"Hm," he hummed thoughtfully, stepping back once again. Bringing up the notes on the hologram once again, Erwin spoke for the first time, "L-352963."
A pause.
"Repeat model number."

7:45 AM -- a time so early it was almost unholy.
The underclassmen buzzed around with their bright yellow folders tightly in hand. On the first day, it was ridiculously easy to tell which class each of the students were from. The Freshmen all looked worried they'd be late, backpacks and art totes overtaking their small frames that were completely dolled up for their first day of college. Second years looked less worried and had far less tucked under their arms. It ranged all the way up to the senior class who looked as if they'd just rolled out of bed and carried basically only their pencils and school-issued planners.
Being a school ambassador meant Erwin was one of the few senior students who looked presentable. The palatable yellow school-printed t-shirt and official demeanor set him apart from most of the other students. Underclassmen scurried up to him and offered him their schedule in hopes he'd be able to point them in the right direction.
Considering it was nearing 8:30 and classes were starting, most of the halls had cleared out. After deciding that his job was finished, Erwin began to make his way to his own morning class.
"Do you need help finding a classroom?" he offered a short, dark-haired student he found in an upstairs hallway. Where it was simple to determine which year the other students were in, this student was more of a mystery. Erwin could gather that he wasn't in his senior class, but couldn't quite but an exact year on him. He didn't look frazzled, but also didn't quite look like he'd seen two full years of college. Sophomore? That was a good guess.

He narrowed his eyes at the commander, "People tend to break that trust. That is all."
"I hope I am worthy of your trust," he replied flatly.
"Enough of that," Erwin said, waving his hand to dismiss the somber conversation. "What do you have planned for the day?"

Armin couldn’t help but laugh at the reply to his tweet and shook his head.
Shhhh what paper? I don’t know what you’re talking about. psh. I only know about this Netflix.
Armin smiled and put his phone away to avoid putting the paper off even longer. He knew he needed to write it, he was only going to waste more time and end up cramming later. It took about twenty minutes before he realized he had fallen asleep, waking up to a cat on his face and no more cookies. “Cat, you poor no-named slob.” He said almost fondly, moving his cat, closing the computer, moving the plate to his bedside table, and giving into sleep.

Pulling himself out of bed was hard. Too hard. Though the memo they sent around the office for the event labeled it as optional, it was anything but for Erwin. His boss basically told him that, for him, it was mandatory.
Not to mention that he was to meet the boss' son today.
Taking extra care to make sure he looked presentable, Erwin checked himself in his small bathroom mirror and combed his hair over for he second time that morning before moving to knot the tie that that dangled about his neck. The mid-blue colored fabric was neatly tied when he finally shrugged into his dark suit jacket and prepared to leave.
There was no parking and it seemed like almost all of his coworkers were in attendance, anyway. Before he got out of his car, Erwin sent out a short post of complaint.
