I don't enjoy driving and I'm bad at it out of a lack of experience. I'm physically and legally capable of driving but I'm always stressed out and can't drive a stick and refuse to learn because of how scary it already is to drive an automatic; I can't multitask enough to add the clutch and gear system on top of everything else.

And thus my wife chauffers me around everywhere I want/need to go in her stick shift subaru which she is good at and enjoys driving.

I see a lot of nobles out here who think "Well I have a 10,000 square foot castle, surely that's enough space for a knight." WRONG. Knights are WORKING BREEDS, they need to go on regular quests to prove their fealty and come home horribly wounded. I have seen SO MANY adopted knights DESPONDENT because their liege keeps them cooped up in a castle and won't let them go on quests. If you want an armored warrior who will be happy in your castle you need to get a castellan. They're closely related to the knight breed but adapted to the castle environment.

Moreover, overpopulation is an ecofascist myth specifically scapegoating ‘developing’ nations in the global south for climate disaster.

In reality, populations only rise so sharply as people begin to receive better access to healthcare and maternal and infant mortality in particular decrease. Eventually, as healthcare access is more evenly distributed through a population and people on a larger scale are able to access family planning care, the population stops increasing and levels out and decreases.

Which is why so-called ‘developed’ are all now manufacturing a crisis about population decline and not having enough bodies to fill out the labor force while simultaneously fearmongering about overpopulation in racialized groups. It’s eugenics shit.

I took my wife's chosen name that she sort of made up, but it's close to some existing names. It's maybe possible that someone else has it (I voted for the last option), but anyone with the same or similar name would almost definitely *not* be related to us.

Seriously, though, the French LOVED Edgar Allan Poe, thanks in particular to Jules Verne.

He even wrote a sequel to Poe’s only novel, and numerous essays about how great an author Poe was.

By all accounts, Poe (who lived a penniless life in the US) really *was* baffled by all of this.
