Fearmans Pork in Burlington, ON, Canada... A young pig looks out of a transport truck. These are the last few moments of their life, as the truck quickly turns the corner toward the slaughterhouse. We had already seen two trucks before, and many more will arrive. They are endless. All packed with six-month-old babies, the standard age at which they are slaughtered. At this age they should be playing with their siblings, foraging, and nursing while their mom sings to them. But instead they are spending the last moments of their short lives in a crowded truck. Some comfort each other. Some look out in fear. Some scream in pain. We can only tell them that we love them and bear witness to their suffering as they approach the slaughterhouse. Look into this pig's eyes – is a quick meal worth a lifetime of fear and pain? For this pig, and all animals, please choose a compassionate, nonviolent, vegan lifestyle.
