Please reblog, this is so important.
I needed this
Is this foreal?
Yes it’s a real service. I do volunteer work for a rape crisis support service in my city and texting is one of the features we provide as well. But just to boost its credibility, I tried it myself:
I’ve used crisis text lines before. You might think like, how could something like this help? They can’t fix my problem so why bother? But having someone to talk to, someone who’s trained in crisis support, can be an immense help. They can help calm you down and maybe even offer a new perspective on your troubles. Even if you’re not feeling suicidal, but you’re still upset and freaking out over something, use a support tool like this. It can really help. (And don’t think your problems aren’t serious enough to warrant using a crisis line, that’s your brain lying to you. If you feel like you’re having a crisis, then you are. A crisis isn’t about the specific situation you’re in, it’s about feeling overwhelmed and not having the proper tools to get through your emotions, regardless of what it is that’s making you feel that way. That’s where crisis support lines help.)
