Happy to know this human @pidgeo_n ・・・ When I was 18, and retrieved my medical records from @luriechildrens, I found out four important truths that changed the course of my life. ▫️ 1️⃣ I discovered that as a baby I was labeled a male pseudo-hermaphrodite 46XY. This was shocking because I had been assigned female at birth. ▫️ 2️⃣ I was born with undescended testes. No one ever told me this truth, instead my doctors lied and told me I was born with “cancerous ovaries” that had to be surgically removed in order to save my life. ▫️ 3️⃣ My clitoris was deemed too large (at a mere 1.5 centimeters when stretched) when I was 4 years old, and surgically altered with a medical procedure called a clitorectomy–very similar to #FemaleGenitalMutilation. ▫️ 4️⃣ At age 11, I was told by my doctors at Lurie that I needed a surgery on my urethra and bladder, but discovered thanks to retrieving my medical records that they actually gave me a complex vaginoplasty-like surgery instead. ▫️〰️▫️ All of these surgeries were NOT medically necessary, and done without my consent. ▫️〰️▫️ All of this happened, I would find out, because my genitals didn’t quite fit the doctors’ binary perception of what “normal female” genitals should look & behave like. No medical reasons whatsoever. My body was cut, put on display and medically violated because people with M.Ds pathologize (see last post) our beautiful healthy #nonbinary #intersex bodies. ▫️ I went back to the hospital where all of this went down and asked my best friend (& amazing Chicago movement photographer Sarah-Ji @loveandstrugglephotos) to take photos of me in front of the drive way leading into the entrance of the hospital that was then boarded up and being demolished. It was a driveway I was very familiar with as young person, a driveway that lead to the gates of a small personal hell. ▫️ Lurie Childrens hospital, and all children’s hospitals that continue performing non-consensual medical unnecessary surgeries on intersex kids, claim to “care” for us when we never needed that “care” in the first place. If you go on Lurie’s website today, they still have clitoral surgeries listed as a medical intervention for intersex babies.

Shes tweeted feminist 101 shit about sexism and trans trenders. Which might upset you but isn’t a call for hate or discrimination or extermination. You absolutely do a disservice to actual hate groups and the actual threats trans individuals face (MEN kill trans women, men rape trans men, men are the ones hurting their partners in domestic violence incidents, men kill prostitutes). JKR on the other hand has openly and repeatedly gotten dick pictures and death wishes from trans women and trans allies. Meanwhile JKR is...donating so much money she lost billionaire status. She has an ongoing kids charity. She’s sharing stories and articles from lesbians centering their experiences in lgbt spaces and groups. Shes linking to trans peoples blogs, including one trans men who detransitioned and is now sharing her journey and experiences as a trans men and now as a lesbian. How can you read anything and think its WORSE than a man who called his cat n*gger and a man working with a church to politically oppose same sex marriage and homosexuals??? how can you look at that and just want to say “see! patriarchy hurts boys!!” No i doesn’t, not systemically. It tries to train them into actually being the stronger than women, meaner to women. It teaches them that weak, and stupid are Girl things, and therefore all things girls do are stupid, inferior to things Boys do. Like no. i don’t wanna talk about boys. I don’t want to hear how their feelings got hurt when they got called a girl, as if their feelings getting hurt somehow overshadows the fact that being female is a shame, an insult, a curse. And I don’t understand why someone would want to make a boy’s feelings a priority in feminism. It’s a side effect, one that can be easily fixed if men wanted to fix it. They could start standing up for women, the women and girls in their life, they could teach their sons that women are not inferior, that the people who use ‘girl’ as an insult are in the wrong. 

But for some reason it has become feminism’s job, women’s job, to take care of boys’ and men’s feelings and comfort them. Just like always. Color me shocked.

literally when people do this it just feeds into the narrative that radfems require women to look feminine in order for us to consider them women. when we point at the broad shoulders and strong jawlines of trans women to prove they’re not “real” women, that shit does hurt natal women. of course i’m not saying that women with these traits look like men. they don’t. a tall woman with narrow hips is still distinguishable from a man and we all know that. but when you point to these traits to prove the “maleness” of trans women, you end up hurting natal women who have those features. none of that shit matters, what matters is that they are the sex that produces sperm. i wish y’all would stop doing this.
