sometimes I see a feminist analysis post on sexual violence and/or porn etc and I agree with it or I understand the spirit of it, but the language is so salacious and vivid I get turned off. yeah we should describe the sexual violence in porn accurately, but also are we letting pornified language dictate how we talk about these things?

saw someone arguing that actual sex workers don't like the nordic model as a criticism of it, and the way they talked made it clear they think the nordic model is supposed to be pro-sex worker and is failing at that. and it's like. no. the nordic model is not pro-sex worker, it's designed to be pro-victim. It's to protect victims (who are largely women and girls!) who are being sexually exploited from being charged with a crime. the nordic model discourages prostitution. of course someone who is trying to make money doing that does not like something that makes it harder.
