I was talking to my sister about it last night in the car and I’ve concluded that the best movie adaptation of Hamilton would be randomly anachronistic for seemingly no reason. Like, the characters all dress like it’s the late 19th century but the props and setting change wildly.

It’s Quiet Uptown takes place in The Grange surrounded by historical estates and brownstones, but the entirety of The Schyler Sisters takes place in like, modern Times Square

The start of the Aaron Burr, Sir sequence starts in a dark period appropriate tavern and then Laurens kicks the door open carrying an actual six pack of Samuel Adams

Both the one v one Hamilton & Washington scenes are set in the oval office (despite the White House not actually existing yet) but the cabinet battles are set in… whatever building they were using to house the government in Philadelphia and NYC at that point

Hamilton’s line about “We have resorted to eating our horses” is angrily shouted into a corded desk phone that he slams to hang up

Phillip Hamilton interrupts an actual play in a period theatre but the ushers that show him out at the end all have flashlights

Farmer Refuted takes place in Central Park and the accompaniment is from street musicians, including the harpsichord

The hard cut to King George’s declaration has him with in the set they use for the Queen’s Christmas Speech, except instead of a photograph on the desk there’s a big portrait of Queen Victoria behind him

Cabinet battles have a stenographer using a type writer

My stance on Lily at the moment is as neutral as can be. I don’t hate her. I know that a lot of the shit that goes around about her is utter bullshit, but I know she’s not exactly the unproblematic fave that a lot of her fans think she is.

To be completely honest, when all is said and done… I don’t give a fuck. I do not care. I can continue with my life simply saying that Lily Orchard made a damn good Steven Universe video, and just be done with it. It’s not like I know her, or I’m friends with her or anything. If she’s a shit person, then okay, call that shit out, whatever, but I just wanna use this shitty website to spout my stupid nonsense about bullshit in the media and write CaTCG. I do not want to have to log onto tumblr every damn day and solve the next case in the Lily Orchard Murder Mystery.

It’s fucking tiring. I’m the kind of person who likes to form my own opinions based on evidence and not call people out on baseless claims and blah blah blah but I’ve had enough. If you like Lily, cool. If you don’t, cool. I do not give a fuck either way. She’s said and done shit things, and people have said and done shit things to her. It’s all a mess and I am sick of being stuck in the middle of it. As much as I would love to be someone who can go through everything with a fine comb and come to the ultimate conclusion, I just don’t want to. I am not a private investigator.

I am neutral to all of this, and tired of all of this. I do not want to spend my days fucking around through someone’s past to try and figure out if they’re shit or not. I’m not that fucking bored. I got shit to do that is far more important than figuring out if the sarcastic internet lady is good or not.

My stance is this. She makes some damn good videos sometimes. She was perfectly nice to me when we spoke, and when she explained everything she admitted to the things she did fuck up on, and gave me explanations for the bullshit that people spread about her. She’s said some shitty things, I know, but she’s not evil. She’s definitely not perfect, but she’s not a demon. I stand right on top of the fence.She’s just a person, and people need to stop trying to get me to pick apart her life to figure out exactly how morally good she is. I’m tired of it.

Protip for cancelling Cable: Say you’ve hit very hard financial stress and you need to cut the expense out entirely. They always try to upsell on the basis that they think you’re switching carriers, but if you flat out say right at the start that there is no possible way that upselling will work, the technician won’t bother.

When Eastlink tries to upsell me on Cable, I tell them that I have Netflix and there’s nothing on TV these days that interests me. So they know that there isn’t an argument they can make to convince me otherwise.  

They’re required to upsell and calls are recorded. They risk getting fired if they don’t, so do them and yourselves a favor take the responsibility out of their hands.
