Just finished reading the screenplay of an Always Sunny fan episode.

Properly formatted, proper use of dialogue extension markers (V.O, O.S, CONT’d), proper use of parentheticals, action lines written as actual action instead of story, in-character dialogue, in-character behaviours, a visionary use of settings and narrative structuring, PROPER PLACEMENT AND INCLUSION OF AN INTRO SEQUENCE.

Hitting every screenplay convention and every narrative beat of the original series. I have found my fanfic niche.

I miss my touching gothic queer romance period piece following a 1910s black businessman in New Orleans struggling to adjust to his new life, new victories and new misfortunes.

Envision any other modern adaptation of a classic gothic novel utilising the same terminology as TVL- it becomes a clip-farming disaster!!! An entertaining watch on surface, but a poorly constructed mess underneath filled with drastically concerning content and NOTHING of substance, clawing its way into relevance by rinsing urban dictionary dry. #justiceforantoinette.
