In case no one has told you lately, your physical and mental health is more important than any job, any class, or any professional responsibility you have. I teach in the Education department of my university, and I really believe that it is not said frequently enough that there are a myriad of reasons why things do not go the way we originally intended whether it be that you drop a class, turn in late work, or end up failing altogether. Sometimes our own well-being gets lost in the perceived importance of other things around us, especially with "hustle culture" (which I wish a very fuck you). At the end of the day, we are people and we need to be kind to ourselves. We are capable of so many things if we have the right conditions and a second chance, and it is far more important to get up and try again or even arrive late to the finish line than to put unhealthy and unsustainable pressure on ourselves.
