a reply to a silent question, a moment of bare honesty between the two girls. sango seldom allows herself to show the side of her that aches ( to the point that all everybody sees is the side of her who fights ), but for a friend, she would kill and she would die, and even allow herself to be vulnerable behind closed doors.

" i know you. i can tell, " i can tell because you have the same look in your eyes, the same glassy stare, the same unshed tears. the kind of look of someone who has lost something precious, and they keep praying it will come back around. because that is all they have left to do.

her voice sounds tired, an overwhelming sense of exhaustion echoing from her lips. anger is all she has left, and perhaps the thing that scares her the most is the fact that, by now, she welcomes it; basks in it. and to be consumed by her anger and grudges terrifies her to no end. it makes her no different than him.

but silent fury, bottled up inside her gut waiting to go off like one of her smoke bombs, that is all she has left. and for some reason, she thinks, hopes, prays, that this man will understand it. perhaps, she simply searches desperately for someone to tell her that she is not in the wrong.

it's really interesting how both sango and inuyasha handle anger in similar yet different ways: they both let it consume them entirely; they both feed off it to keep going -- it becomes their motivation for living.

HOWEVER, whereas inuyasha wears his anger on his sleeve, sango tries desperately to keep hers contained. tranquil fury, so to speak, and while it does consume her entirely, this desire for revenge and this grudge, while she uses it as fuel to keep going, she does manage to keep it inside of her without excessively manifesting it ( for the time being ).

a heavy exhale escapes through gritted teeth, a combination of exhaustion and frustration is obviously present in her voice as she keeps on polishing her weapon. Sango does not know the meaning of 'slowing down'; does not know the meaning of 'rest', because when you've been trained to spend days in high vigilance with little to no sleep, any kind of thing that slows down her travelling seems like an unnecessary luxury she cannot afford to indulge in.

but they are not at fault. not @kaigome, or Houshi-sama, and certainly not Inuyasha, who seems equally bothered by them deciding to rest at the village for the night. but Inuyasha and Sango often seem to be cut by the same blade, so to speak. and maybe she cannot forgive the fact that she has to force her body to slow down instead of just keep going.

" it's not your fault ... you are not used to going without sleep for so long, " it feels unfair of her to force Kagome and Miroku-sama to walk beyond the point of exhaustion, when in the end, she is also human. she just does not feel like one at this point.

A   moment   of   silence,   chipped   fingernails   dig   into   her   palms   (   don’t   let   it   take   over.   Don’t   let   it   consume   you.   Not   yet   ),   and   as   she   keeps   her   eyes   fixated   on   nothing   at   all,   Sango   reasons   that   there   is   not   much   to   be   said   about   the   situation.   Truth   is,   she’s   never   been   one   to   like   unnecessary   words;   the   mere   notion   of   talking   endlessly   about   her   misery   makes   her   nauseous   and   fills   her   gut   with   bile.   Some   people   like   doing   it   -   some   people   thrive   in   sharing   their   pain,   odd   as   it   might   be.
