like lowkey im loving this team but uhhh your depth is going to suffer if u sign müller who’s 95k, clarky who’s around 80-126k (since her contract was structured for her to have a front loaded contract, i don’t remember what her second year salary was supposed to be but i imagine she will have taken a minimum of 80k), jenner who’s 122k and the remaining two (baby goose and ozzy) who have had solid seasons to warrant a good raise

One thing that really upsets me about the way that people are (very understandably) wanting to turn back on the PWHL Detroit team is that Michigan has ZERO D1 women’s hockey teams. University of Michigan, for example, just has a club team that has to raise funds to even use the rink. For one of the top producing states of women’s hockey players in America, it is really embarrassing that we have no D1 teams.

I worry if there isn’t strong support for this new PWHL team that people will point to that as a rationale to continue to push female players out of state and not invest in women’s hockey.
